City with No Name: The city in which the series takes place in is never mentioned by name however it's established that it takes place somewhere in the U.S. as the General Inspector has an American flag in his office, and several characters having Brooklyn accents. Acronym and Abbreviation Overload: There is a ton of it shown, especially from S.U.I.T. Examples include: His aliases are always a combination of the thing he is made of, and the word "Crocodile" (his species)

Here, Mango's entire purpose is to play off of the puns or point out the beginning of one. The moment he asked or questioned something, I could immediately tell it would result in a pun. Honestly, he was asking about so much that I would not be surprised if, at the end, someone, somehow, swapped the bodies of Mango and a seven-year-old. Fast, fabulous, and fantastically funny, the InvestiGators books are instant classics!' - Jamie Smart, creator of Bunny vs Monkey. As the story unfolds, a cruise ship captain is discovered adrift in the open sea, his mind clouded by delirium. An Aesop: Off the Hook is where Mango learns that he can't always win in every scenario, and learns to make tough decisions on his own. Those fans and readers who have read the rest of the part in the InvestiGators series and eagerly waiting for the final one then it is the time to embark upon the conclusion part.

Customer reviews

Reference Overdosed: Heist and Seek is filled with tons of references to famous painters and paintings. When a cruise captain is found drifting at sea and delirious, the search begins for his missing ship and passengers! Did it sink? Was it boat-napped? Are supernatural forces at play? And can the InvestiGators unravel this maritime mystery before a second cruise befalls a similarly unfathomable fate? Seas the day and find out in this new nautical adventure!

Green Gators: The main characters are two green alligators, Mango and Brash. Brash is a lighter yellowy-green, and Mango is a darker green.

This work contains examples of:

Replacement Goldfish: Subverted. S.U.I.T. headquarters provides Mango a robotic copy of Brash named RoboBrash while the real one is in a coma. My 2 sons and I have been loving those books for the last few years and we always laugh so much at Mango and Brash’s puns and crazy ideas! In the third mission it is mentioned that he have escaped (highly referring to book 2 events), the player is asked to find all the clues that are in the area (the sewer), among which is a photo of him and crumbs from his body.

Looks exactly as Waffledile, but now is made of concret, purely silver colored and bigger after the Embiggener effects. Art Evolution: In later volumes, the facial expressions and poses are drawn much more exaggerated compared to the stiffness of early books. The colours have also gotten more vibrant. The story is hilarious, there are so many laugh-out-loud and snort-inducing moments, and the drawings are perfect. In the same episode, he eats his tail out of curiosity, and expresses that "He is actually pretty tasty" My creative team (my 14, 10, and 7 year old boys and myself) really enjoyed the opportunity to read the advance copy of this book. Here is our honest review: Pictorial Letter Substitution: InvestiGators is about a pair of alligators who solve crimes together. The title logo has a magnifying glass standing in for the "o". Shown Their Work: In All Tide Up, Mango mentions his skin getting dry from being in the ocean. as it's not like the rivers and lakes that he's used to. This makes sense as alligators are freshwater creatures.

The best way to get some love from my kids is to tell them I have the new Investigators book. If I tell them I got an ARC of the next one it’s even better 😏 Shout-Out: The two lead characters, Mango and Brash, have names inspired by the Buddy Cops film Tango and Cash. When I told my 10 year old he could help me review an InvestiGators book before anyone could buy it he practically jumped out of his skin in excitement. The 10 year old says that he loved the humor throughout the book and the mystery with the twist at the end. My 14 year old says that the plot line is funny and entertaining. He loves the play on words. My 7 year old loves InvestiGators because they are funny, Mango is his favorite character. Mind-Control Eyes: When characters are mind controlled by Slinker, their eyes become purple swirls.Another major issue that I really, REALLY hope won't become a trend is Mango's decrease in intelligence. Okay, it's not that bad, but this book's Mango can be quite the child at times. And I know that's kind of his character, in a way. A bit childish, a bit goofy, and a bit dumb. But that's what makes his breakthroughs all the more memorable. It gives him a spotlight. This graphic novel is going to be published by First Second publisher and will be considered a great read for the reading age range between 7 – 10 years and grade level 2 – 3.
