On my tube amp, I use it in the effects loop and can get great tones and sustains at lower volume levels practicing at home. I need to get my volume up to around 5 or 6 on most of my tube amps to hit that sweet spot. In a regular old house, most of the family and neighbors don't really approve (and telling them "if it's too loud, you're too old" didn't fly). So this little guy thrown into the effects loop as a "master volume" for your master volume is the perfect solution.
