Description

Lose You to Find Me is a book about growing and finding yourself, and If you’re reading this review, I truly hope that you find yourself. At the bookstore- buying this book. But overall, this was a very enjoyable read for me, and I'd definitely recommend it, particularly if you enjoy YA with a full cast of fun characters, rather than something purely romance centered. I had a great time reading it and miss the characters already!

Sentence Summary: Tommy Dees wants nothing more than to attend the best culinary school in the country, the same school his dad went to before he died, but he needs a recommendation letter and his manager at the retirement home where he works won’t write one for him unless he completes three tasks, including training the new hire who just happens to be Gabe de la Hoya, aka Tommy’s childhood crush that he hasn’t seen in years. They were so very soft and utterly adorable in their make-out sessions, but still could find that comfortable ease of being able to talk to one another about their problems. I wish there could have been more of their relationship - more of seeing Brad and Tommy together as a couple, rather than Tommy's continuous futile attempts to make Gabriel suddenly realize that he was the one for him. 🥰🥰 Last night, Selena Gomez dropped a new song, a powerful breakup balled titled "Lose You to Love Me." The last verse also indicates a final farewell to her former beau. "And now the chapter is closed and done / To love love, yeah / To love love, yeah / To love, yeah / And now it's goodbye, it's goodbye for us," she sings. Maybe planning everything out like it was a recipe wasn’t always the easiest way to live your life.”Lose you to find me by B. Celeste is the 3rd book in the Linden University series and tells the story of Raine and Caleb.

Snappy banter among a vibrant cast makes for a charming read about finding who and what really matters in life.

I will say that this was definitely more of a "finding yourself" book than a romance. I think the title implies that, but the cover and blurb made me think it was going to be more of a romance than it was. I did like the way the story played out, especially the idea that things don't always work out the way you planned, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. And I thought the message at the end of the book that life is full of times that are so hard as to seem impossible to get through, but that once you do get through them there are better times ahead was so important. And I liked how flawed and often misguided and self-involved the characters were. They are teenagers. They make plenty of mistakes. All that felt very real. This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself. This entire book was just a pleasure to read. It was warm, comforting and extremely funny. It shows you how dreams can change, and that’s completely okay! Regardless, I fell more and more in love with Gabe, and his coming out moment with Tommy at Prom had me in happy tears. It was one of the sweetest moments I’ve read in a book in recent memory.
