Design Information about the dimensions and weight of the device, shown in different measurement units. Body materials, available colors, certifications. Width Networks A mobile (cellular) network is a radio system, which allows a large number of mobile devices to communicate with each other. GSM A CPU core is the processor unit, which executes software instructions. Presently, besides single-core processors, there are dual-core, quad-core, hexa-core and so on multi-core processors. They increase the performance of the device allowing the execution of multiple instructions in parallel. The L2 (level 2) cache memory is slower than L1, but has a larger capacity, instead, which allows it to cache more data. Just like L1, it is much faster than the system memory (RAM). If the CPU does not find the data needed in L2, it proceeds to look for them in the L3 cache memory (if there is such) or in the RAM. System on Chip (SoC) A system on a chip (SoC) includes into a single chip some of the main hardware components of the mobile device. SoC

There's a bit of bad news as the One Mini 2 also misses out on OIS, even though its bigger brother sports the technology which produces sharper, clearer images. Another season, another flagship, another mini in tow. Guess we all know the drill but HTC had quite a few decisions to make. To begin with, they went for a bigger screen, placing the mini 2 right between the original and last season's flagship. The UltraPixel camera was dropped for a regular 13MP unit, which looks like a good move judging by our recent experience with the Desire 816. The One Mini 2’s biggest compromise is its internal hardware. While its quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor is by no means slow, the Snapdragon 400 is also used in the considerably cheaper Motorola Moto G. Admittedly, the One Mini 2 was slightly faster in the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark, completing it in 1,185ms compared to the Moto G’s 1,410ms. Information about the height, i.e. the vertical side of the device when it is used in its standard orientation. Information about the width, i.e. the horizontal side of the device when it is used in its standard orientation. Then again, with KitKat right out of the box, the Snapdragon 400 will probably do just fine. Plus, the One mini 2 has something the former flagship and its compact version don't - a memory card slot. The BoomSound stereo speakers on the front are a definite asset too. And the looks and build are something you just can't take away. HTC hasn’t upgraded from the 720p HD display on the One Mini, which is mildly disappointing when you consider that the Moto G, now the benchmark for smartphones below the iPhone 5S, One M8, Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 boasts the same screen resolution. What has changed is the size, moving from a 4.3-inch display up to a larger 4.5-inch Super LCD 3 screen. Similar to the CPU, the GPU consists of processing units called cores. They handle the computation of graphics in various applications. A new 5-megapixel camera on the front allow users to remove red eye and smooth out skin. [6] See also [ edit ]

Front camera Modern smartphones have one or more front cameras and their positioning has led to various design concepts – pop-up camera, rotating camera, notch, punch hole, under-display camera, etc. Aperture Battery The batteries of mobile devices differ in capacity and technology. They provide the electrical charge needed for the functioning of the devices. Capacity The old MINI One featured a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine, while this car gets a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo developed from the 1.5-litre found in the MINI Cooper. It delivers 101bhp, which is only slightly up on the old car’s 97bhp figure. The aperture (f-stop number) indicates the size of the lens diaphragm opening, which controls the amount of light reaching the image sensor. The lower the f-stop number, the larger the diaphragm opening is, hence, the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-stop number specified is the one that corresponds to the maximum possible diaphragm opening. The display resolution shows the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. The higher the resolution is, the greater the detail of the displayed content.talk time is the time period a battery charge will last, if one is constantly talking on the phone in a 2G cellular network.

Information about additional software and hardware features of the rear camera which improve its overall performance. That said, the One Mini 2 managed to run all the games and applications I threw at it, and apart from some tardy load times operation was smooth throughout. One of the main characteristics of the cameras is their image resolution. It states the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the image, which can also be shown in megapixels that indicate the approximate number of pixels in millions. Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAMThankfully, the screen’s contrast levels were better. We measured a contrast ratio of 1,289:1, and our darker test images showed plenty of detail. This didn’t help the screen’s narrow viewing angles, though, as the screen became noticeably darker when we set it down on a table compared to when we were looking at it face-on. It was still bright enough to see the screen clearly, but we found it difficult to read lots of text on HTC’s Blinkfeed news reader, for instance, unless we were holding the phone in our hand. One of the main characteristics of the display is its type/technology, on which depends its performance. RAM (Random-Access Memory) is used by the operating system and all installed applications. Data in the RAM is lost after the device is turned off or restarted. In fact, the latest mini is quite close to last year's flagship - which more than makes sense - but we bet the first thing on HTC's mind was closing the gap on Sony's Xperia Z1 compact. However, at a price that's uncomfortably close to €500, this mini is asking a lot. Let's just say, a better chipset would have been nice at this price point.
