Description

The new Immolator (complete with its own stained glass window!) blazed its way onto the scene in March, along with the rest of the Adepta Sororitas range. With that, the Sisters of Battle were ready to take the fight to the God-Emperor’s foes like never before! The last subfaction here again has some somewhat interesting stuff going on but doesn’t really do enough to put it ahead of the best ones. Losing only one model to morale is kind of mediocre – Sisters have good leadership and easier ways of mitigating morale failures than this. Overwatching on 5s also isn’t nearly as interesting in 9th, as you’ll only ever benefit on one unit per turn. The Stratagem is fine and could be OK on heavy bolter retributors with a filled out squad, but suffers from there being vastly better ways to put shooting down. Through political manoeuvring (and quite a few assassinations), Vandire positioned himself to rise to the head of the Ecclesiarchy as well, becoming High Lord of two of the most powerful branches of the Imperial government at once. Next up, Saint in the Making is a straightforward extra warlord trait Stratagem, which is always a good option to have. If you find yourself having a hard time choosing between traits for a list, it might be worth trading a cp for the ability to take an extra one on a different character!

She is a paragon amongst the Sisters of Battle, armed with a fearsome blade that cuts through foes like butter. You might also recognise her as the star of the original 2nd Edition Sisters of Battle Codex cover. Our guess is this sprue plus two other identical sprues to each other will make up the new Sisters Starter box. With the 2nd coat of Thousand Suns blue still wet, paint some neat Baharroth Blue into it to blend in some variations, pull the Baharroth towards the brightest areas. Meltaguns are not a weapon you see a lot of in Kill Team (unless you count fusion pistols). While the D6 damage is great, having only one shot in a world where you often shoot at a -2 penalty is quite risky. Running the Sniper Specialism and pairing with a Comms Specialist is one way to improve your odds but it’s costly (in terms of model and CP investment) and those 2s will still waste an activation. As for the secondaries, Purge the Enemy seems the best but it is keyword Adeptus Minitorum, so be sure to keep that in mind. Essentially each round you can get 1 point for killing a unit with a bolter, 1 point for killing a unit with a melta, and 1 point for killing a unit with a flamer. If you manage all three in a turn you’ll get a bonus point for a total of 4. Depending on the size of enemy units, you should be able to do 2 of these each round and maybe the 3rd.

Relic – Annunciation of the Creed: Relic condemnor boltgun. S5, AP-2 Dd3, can character snipe PSYKERS and does straight damage 3 against them. Ever a warrior first and administrator second, Vahl strides the battlefields of the 41st Millennium clad in Purgator Mirabilis, the finest warsuit of its kind and an ancient relic restored to glory by the Fabricator General of Mars himself. The Sisters of Battle are getting a new army boxed set – let’s see if we can’t breakdown the pricing for all the goodies inside the box! Floating above the battlefield in the Pulpit of Saint Holline’s Basilica, wielding the Mace of Castigation, Junith Eruita can turn the tide of battle all by herself. She sweeps the ranks of the foe with heavy flamers and the power of her faith. Her prayers reach all corners of the fight, striking fear into the enemy as she rallies those who fight alongside her. The last two are pretty much just misses – Divine Guidance is nowhere near as potent a boost as The Passion and your shooting units don’t need AP help, while Light of the Emperor isn’t totally useless, but is solving a problem this army has no real trouble with, especially now that a roll of a 1 auto-passes morale (meaning bad dice in your MIracle pool can become emergency passes). Stratagems, Traits and Relics

And lastly, the Canoness model that was handed out at the 2019 NOVA Open. It’s still the exact same sprue.

It may also explain why no other Sisters models are releasing around the same time (according to rumors). This may have been the fastest path to market for the Sisters Games Workshop could muster in time for the holidays. The relics are pretty decent but nothing too insane. A couple of them are once per game, with pretty decent effects, one giving you a 2+ invuln save for a turn. Stratagems

You roll an unmodified 1 for a Morale test taken for a unit with the AoF ability (without performing an AoF to do so) Nothing too crazy on the datasheet, but her real benefit comes from the auras and commands she can issue. She can also use the Hymns of Battle which are pretty strong and will really buff up nearby units. Much of a Sister team’s strength (flamers and melee) is going to be at short range so a mobile force has a better chance of kiting the opposing Sisters team and focusing fire on any long range threats before switching attention to close-range targets before they can close the gap. You’re going to have to wait until January for the big toys. Credit: Games Workshop Painting and Modeling Adepta SororitasOn a planet named San Leor, Van Dire encountered a cult of women devoted to the worship of the Emperor, called the Daughters of the Emperor. Sensing an opportunity, he showed them a ‘miracle’ by deflecting a las-blast with his forcefield generator. The cult, whichVandirerenamedthe Brides of the Emperor, became his bodyguards and most trusted warriors. If you need to keep a certain unit from psychic powers, then this is the way to go. It will remove all debuffs from them and keep them safe through your next turn. Meaning in a sense they could get protected from two powers. Do you want to run an infantry-heavy force of devout warriors, marching forth to war (literally) shielded by their faith in the emperor? Does being able to call in miraculous assitance to pull off improbable dice rolls at key moments sound like your kind of fun? Or do you just want to throw a large number of fanatics wielding chainswords bigger than they are at your opponents? If any of these sound like you, read on. The ceiling for the objective is 20 points, but granted that’s nearly impossible, you’ll probably land closer to the 7-10 range, which is still good for a low-stress objective that you can naturally get through the game without changing your game pay too much. 40k Adepta Sororitas 9th Edition Morvenn Vahl Datasheet
