Safety advice when using emollients Fire safety Purified Water, White Soft Paraffin 14.5% w/w, Liquid Paraffin 12.6% w/w, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Monostearate, Sodium Cetostearyl Sulfate, Lanolin, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Methyl Hydroxybenzoate, Sodium Propyl Hydroxybenzoate, BHT. Indications:

Fragrance-free 2-in-1 moisturising cream and wash with natural oatmeal (avena sativa kernal flour) for use in the management of dry skin conditions as may be found in eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, ichthyosis, elderly pruritus and other dry skin conditions. Adverse reactions: Certain activities, such as gardening, can irritate the skin. It may help to apply an emollient before doing these. Purified Water, Isopropyl Myristate 15% w/w, Liquid Paraffin 15% w/w, Glycerol, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, C10-C30 Alkyl Acrylate Cross Copolymer, Sorbitan Laurate. Indications: The emollient should be applied as soon as you have patted your skin dry to make sure it's properly absorbed. Skin reactions Liquid Paraffin 65% w/w, Acetylated Wool Alcohols, Isopropyl Myristate and C12- C13 Pareth-3. Indications:an overheating, burning sensation or stinging that does not settle after a few days of treatment – usually caused by a reaction to a certain ingredient in the emollient Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults: Add 15-20ml to a standard bath of warm water (8 inches deep). Immerse and cover the affected areas with the bath water and soak for 10-20 minutes. Pat dry with a towel. Infants and children: Add 5-10ml to a small bath or wash basin of water. Immerse and cover the affected areas with the bath water and soak for 10-20 minutes. Alternatively, repeatedly sponge over the affected areas. Pat dry with a towel. Use as often as required. Zerocream Emollient is used for the relief of symptoms of flaking, dry skin, ichthyosis, dermatitis, the dry stage of eczema and dry cases of psoriasis. It can be used as an alternative to soap. Adverse reactions: Emollients are moisturising treatments applied directly to the skin to soothe and hydrate it. They cover the skin with a protective film to trap in moisture.

This avoids diluting the effect of the treatment and spreading it to areas of skin that do not need it. When to apply emollients Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults: Add 20ml to a standard bath of warm water (8 inches deep). Infants and Children: Add 5ml to a small bath (25 litres) or washbasin of warm water. Immerse and cover the affected areas and soak for 10-20 minutes. Alternatively, gently sponge over the affected areas repeatedly. Pat dry with a towel. Date of preparation:

Emollient bath additive for the management of dry skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. This product is suitable for infants and children. Adverse reactions: A barrier cream that moisturises and protects intact, irritated or inflamed skin for use in the management of incontinence associated dermatitis. It prevents irritation from bodily fluids and acts as a barrier to urine, faeces and exudate. It is suitable for use with incontinence pads. Adverse reactions: Apply the cream to the skin. Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults, the elderly and children: A thin application of the cream should be gently massaged into the skin three times daily or at appropriate intervals. When used as a protective barrier cream, Zeroguent should be applied sparingly to the affected areas of the skin before or immediately after exposure to a potentially harmful factor. Date of preparation: Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Light Liquid Paraffin 8% w/w, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Monostearate, Polysorbate 40, Soya Bean Oil, White Soft Paraffin 4% w/w, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Sorbic Acid. Indications: Emollients can be applied as often as you like to keep the skin well moisturised and in good condition. Ideally, this should be done at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Safety advice when using emollients

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is unlikely to have any ill effects when used as directed. If unsure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Adults and the elderly: Apply pea sized amounts to clean and dry skin, gently spreading the cream evenly to form a thin protective barrier to cover the affected area. Children: Seek HCP advice before use. Date of preparation: For use as a barrier and moisturiser for the symptomatic relief of dermatitis, ichthyosis, eczema, nappy rash, protection of dry skin areas, pruritus and related skin conditions where dry scaly skin is a problem. It can be used as a pre-bathing emollient or as an alternative to soap to alleviate drying effects.
