Next you’ll want to bring a taste of death to the field. Dark Reapers are ideal for this, given they’re able to shoot at a huge distance, and have some of the best ranged stats in the entire game. In addition, their Fire and Fade ability means they can pop in and out of cover with ease. This boosts their survivability, making them a true thorn in your opponent’s side. HeresyLab : They've got an Autarch that doesn't really fit with the traditionnal Eldar style, two seers, a Titan and, IIRC, a Warp Spider. Plus a bunch of other minis for other factions.

Asurmen, the "Hand of Asur," was the first Phoenix Lord. Prior to the Fall of the Aeldari, Asurmen was the Aeldari who led the craftworlds away from the ancient Aeldari homeworlds of their now-lost interstellar empire and it was he who founded the first of the Aspect Warrior Shrines, the Shrine of Asur, upon a barren world of the same name his people initially settled. Dragon Head : Those aren't proxies, but they scream "Exodites". The minis are really impressive, and will be released soon. Saddly, the dragon is 54mm You are the hand that must cast the spear of flames. Control the dragon, channel its power, and in all things mantain absolute focus. Only the concentrated beam can penetrate, and only that which is tempered will not break. Finally, be not afraid. In the end, everything burns."Let’s take a look at how Fire Dragons are being used on the table, and then I’ll offer up my own opinion on this suddenly popular aspect warrior. This is a collection of 3rd party sculptors and designers for our space elves. If you know more let us know. Disclaimer: i haven't bought from any of these so I can't attest for their quality. Daemon Princes, Ork Warlords and the champions of Mankind have all fallen to his pike and axe, each one strengthening Fuegan's chain. Even without a codex of their own, Craftworlds Eldar have undergone some rapid developments following Games Workshop’s drive to encourage armies to play to their strengths. Fuegan was thought lost when the Shrine of Asur was destroyed by Arhra, the Fallen Phoenix. Fuegan disappeared for many standard centuries, before reappearing during the final battle at Haranshemash, "The World of Blood and Tears" in the Aeldari Lexicon.

While these warriors excel as demolition experts, they may also be called in should a transaction or negotiation turn bitter; few protective armours, including the mighty Tactical Dreadnought Armour of the Adeptus Astartes, can withstand the concerted attention of the Fire Dragons. Rumours abound of Rogue Traders who run afoul of Aeldari dignitaries finding themselves stranded after the sudden and brilliant destruction of their transportation. Codex: Eldar Craftworlds (7th Edition) (Digital Edition), "Fuegan," "Fire Dragons", "Datasheet - Fuegan The Burning Lance" Melta Bombs - Fire Dragons are also known to carry additional equipment such as Melta Bombs. These discus-shaped fusion-based explosive devices are attached to any surface and detonated by verbal command. This weapon is used when assaulting an armoured target to ensure its destruction. With the release of the 9th edition of Warhammer 40,000, fans saw a lot of armies undergo drastic changes that meant almost having to re-learn how to play. Craftworlds Eldar have experienced the knife of rebalancing much the same as others, and without a codex available at the time of writing, there are many more changes ahead for the stalwart Aeldari. Now that is not to say the trade game doesn’t have a place. Maybe it is best serving to explode that Land Raider to cripple the spearhead of your opponent’s army and shut down their mobility, but there are other options to this, and a good warhost will seek to take advantage of them also. Put a bunch of Fire Dragons into a transport and zoom it up to your opponent’s super unit, like a Land Raider with terminators inside, get out and pop it open. With the speed and survivability of the Eldar grav tank getting there in one turn isn’t a problem especially when you take into account cover saves, energy shields, and holo-fields. Aspect Helmet - Each warrior Aspect has its own distinctive helmet, and within each shrine of the Aspect the helmet may vary in form slightly, with correspondingly more elaborate versions for the shrine's Exarchs. A standard Fire Dragon Aspect Warrior's helmet is distinctively tall with a long top crest. By custom, it is this helmet that marks the Aspect Warriors as the protectors and avengers of their Craftworld. It bears the rune of the Fire Dragons traced upon its forehead. Fuegan established the shrine of the Fire Dragons when the Asurya spread across the galaxy to teach the Eldar the Path of the Warrior. It was his hope that the Eldar could bring harmony through selective destruction rather then oblivion as a force that could only bring discord. He is respected as a hero across many Craftworlds, often depicted holding the cosmic serpents of wisdom and entropy in his grasp. In many ways Fuegan most embodies the Aspect Warriors obsession with their deadly craft, devoting himself completely to the systematic and total destruction of the Eldar's enemies. Pitilessly destroying the enemies of the Eldar in an unbroken chain across the Galaxy, the Eldar believe that, with this chain, Fuegan intends to bind the Dragon at the end of days, mastering destruction itself. It is said that Fuegan will call together the Phoenix Lords for the Rhana Dandra, the final conflict, and that he will be the last to die. [2] A good opponent will be all about calculating threat range. X unit can move X inches and then shoot X inches. So those Fire Dragons sitting in the transport can potentially move 24″ + the 12″ star engine move to threaten next turn or move the 12″ to threaten this turn. That good opponent will see where you can go and adjust accordingly. Just be having those dragons in a certain area could potentially shut down parts of the table, especially if your opponent is looking to move an expensive or mission critical unit.

A squad of Fire Dragons can number between five to ten Aspect Warriors, typically including an Exarch who will command the squad, and may be delivered into battle within the protective hold of a Wave Serpent transport. Space Marines have their Landspeeders and tactical marines to deliver the heat, Imperial Guard have their own veterans spammed out with melta guns to do the job so Fire Dragons should naturally fit right in with the same role correct? Perhaps, if you are trying to play like Space Marines and Imperial Guard… Fire Axe - This ancient weapon glows red with the heat of its forging. Massive in size and yet still possessed of the alien elegance that defines the works of Vaul, the Fire Axe has never cooled since the day it was crafted, and the Aeldari Lexicon runes on its surface constantly writhe in blazing agony. Wargame Exclusive : They've got some Warp Spiders, male and female version, an exarch, and a Dark Eldar character.Every Aspect Shrine of the Asuryani is led by an Exarch, an Aeldari who has been called permanently to the Path of the Warrior. An Exarch has travelled so far down that Path that he or she can no longer leave it and so dedicates him or herself fully as a high priest of Khaine in service to the Aspect of the War God that he or she represents.

There are a ton of Warlord Traits to select in 9th edition, with the absolute best being reserved for Custom Craftworlds. They get access to Expert Crafters, simply one of the best Warlord Traits available to Eldar players. With it, you’ll get to re-roll one hit and one wound roll each time a unit shoots or fights. That means your damage just got an incredible buff, giving you the ability to chip away at your foe with impunity. What: Warpspiders (+Phoenixlord), Firedragons (male & female), Fuegan, Bonesingers, Striking Scorpions, Karandras, Banshees, Jain Zar, Farseer, Rangers, Illic Nightspear, Dark Reapers The Fire Dragons Warrior Aspect can trace their origins to Fuegan, the Burning Lance, the Phoenix Lord of their Aspect. Following the Fall of the Aeldari, Asurmen, first of the Phoenix Lords, was the Aeldari who led the Craftworlds away from the ancient Aeldari homeworlds at the time of the Fall and it was he who founded the first of the Aspect Shrines upon the barren world of Asur, where the exiled Aeldari settled for a short time. Firepike - A Firepike is a variant of the Fusion Gun used only by Fire Dragon Exarchs. These potent weapons pre-date the existence of the Imperium of Man, having been created by Aeldari artisans long millennia ago. Operating similarly to most Melta Weapons, Firepikes project a lance of intense heat and radiation over a considerable distance that is capable of melting flesh and steel and carving through the toughest armour with deadly precision. Rare even amongst the arsenals of the Asuryani, they are most often borne by the mightiest champions of their kind, relic weapons beyond contemporary means to reproduce even for the craftworlds. The Burning Wing Shrine - The Aspect Warriors of the Burning Wing rarely enter battle without Wave Serpent support, enabling them to visit swift destruction upon foes anywhere on the battlefield.

They will be about as glass cannon as you can get with just a 5++ and 1 wound. Still, with these rules, if you can get them into range, they will burn through pretty much anything. Wounding with everything within 9″ is insane. Especially if you have the flamers as all you have to do is roll how many shots you get and bam, you’re done. If you were wondering how the Aspect Warriors would perform in the new Codex, these 40k Eldar Fire Dragons Rules are pretty spicy! Asurmen found that he could not give up the Path of the Warrior to follow a different Asuryani Path, for he desired to use his skills to protect what remained of his species after the birth of the Chaos God Slaanesh, " She Who Thirsts." From the Shrine of Asur sprang the first Aspect Warriors, and the Path of the Warrior was opened for the very first time to all Aeldari. Since GW has decided to give us the middle finger with overpriced Howling Banshees and whatever-it-is the Dark Eldars got, I've decided to list all the decent proxies one could find on the Internet (or at least all I know about), in case it may help someone get the minis he wants.
