Description

These DIY pumpkin dog biscuits are made with wholesome ingredients – so they are actually good for your dog. Your pup will think they are eating a treat, but you will know they are eating nourishing food that is as good as a vitamin. The exact ingredient amounts and step-by-step directions are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this article. First, I want to share some information about the ingredients I used in these biscuits for dogs.

Give your pumpkin a bath every now and then to keep its rind fresh. Mix one part bleach to ten parts water in a large container and let your pumpkin bathe in the solution for two minutes. What does pumpkin mold look like? The peanut butter filling in these cute Halloween Pumpkins is made with peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar. You can tell if your pumpkins are infected with downy mildew, because there will be yellowish spots on the upper surface of the leaves and purple to gray spots on the bottom of the leaves. In contrast, powdery mildew results in white spots on the bottom of the leaves. Do pumpkins mold from the inside out? Peanut Butter– Be sure to use natural, unsweetened peanut butter. Do not use peanut butter that contains xylitol, an artificial sweetener toxic to dogs.

Putting the mold on pumpkin when it is just bit smaller than the mold (or between 10-13cm in diameter ), but as big as possible ,this will make sure the pumpkin is strong enough to against the hot and wet condition inside of the mold and prevent stop growing or rotting inside. I use my hand mixer to whip up the peanut butter filling, but you can use a spoon or spatula if you prefer. These are the recipe steps and some photos of the process for making the biscuits. I hope they help you make this healthy dog treats recipe!

Once the peanut butter mixture is smooth, put it into the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so until it firms up. If the food is hard like pumpkin and has a low water content, then you can safely cut the mould off, providing you cut at least one centimetre off around where the mould is. This rule of thumb applies to raw pumpkin and other firm fruit and vegetables like carrots and cabbage, hard cheese like cheddar and hard salami. What do you do with a moldy pumpkin? Store the DIY dog treats in a container for dog treats. You can store your pumpkin peanut butter treats at room temperature in an airtight container. Did you know that oats have a bunch of healthy nutrients too? That’s why dog treats with oat flour are a great thing to make your fur babies! These biscuits are gluten-free, so you can give them to your pet if they have issues with wheat.
