In terms of driving feeling, the Sabvoton is far superior because much smoother and has a very nice throttle feeling, without any lag.

Sabvoton controller only design sine wave type controller so far, it’s brushless DC controller, 120 degree phase angle. Generally, we matched it well with QS Motor, if you want to match with new brand motor, some parameters should be tested by yourself. If I’m successful with a repair I’ll provide details. Unfortunately I’m not able to attempt again until November.The motor torque ripple will be reduced to the minimum, so as to ensure electric vehicle to run without any noise and vibration, smoothly, and comfortably. It takes only 3 minutes for the motor to be well matched on its best electronic angle at the first time. I’ve been through 3 tft displays. I’m also using a Sabvoton controller. I find that they die when the battery voltage is cut while riding, i.e BMS low voltage cell protection, CB accidentally switched off, negative cable unplugged. I’ve tried repairing; found that Q1 and Q4 were dead plus a diode. Both transistors are rated for 100V. Must be more failed components than this as display is not fixed yet.

Kelly: the start up is quite rough from 0-5km/h, lots of vibrations, lots of horrible noise like the thing is gonna explode. This is normal on square wave controllers, but not really nice. The start up torque is good, given the weight of my machine. Once passed 5kmh, and until about 30km/h, the motor sound is really fun and nice, sounds almost like a Formula one engine. There is plenty of torque and it doesn't take much time to reach 30. Passed that speed, the sound becomes less audible and the torque seems to decrease, or at least to reach a flat curve, until you reach the top speed, which on my machine was 97km/h. On deceleration, the slide regen was not noticeable since it can only be set up to a very low value. I don't use the regenerative breaking so I cannot say if this works fine, but I saw in the software that it can be set to 50% of controller max power, which is not actually very high too. I use regen as a brake more than I care about recovered energy which is why I wanted variable regen. I have found that I consistently get much higher regen percentage using slip/slide charge mode, even if it's at a low setting. With it being variable you can coast or brake, best of both worlds. I'm going to trigger it to engage the 2nd throttle off of the ebrake switch in my Hydraulic Tektro brakes so all I need to do is lightly grab the front/rear brake lever and then twist a left hand throttle to vary how much I slow down. Cons - largish, about the same as a 24 FET Xie Chang / Lyen, I'll post up some pics for comparison, buggy android software, programming software is a little clunky, but works well. The new sabvotons need some air flow, otherwise you'll reach the temperature limit in about 30minutes of hard riding during the hot days of summer. On my machine, the controller was encased at the rear, with no air flow whatsoever, so I had to build a water cooling system. I also tried a big 250A continuous Lingbo sinewave controller. It seemed far inferior to me than the sabvoton. Lots of throttle lag, weird regen, seemed somewhat less powerful or barely equivalent to a 150A sabvoton, seemed very inefficient in terms of power consumption, the programming software wasn't good.... So far the sabvoton remains my absolute favorite.
