More recently – the Coolfire Z50 kit was released which had an internal 2100mAh battery, came with the Innokin Zlide tank and fired up to 50 watts.

NowI’m not saying that Innokin are witches at all, but they have implemented the F0 technology and the Refresh from the Sensis into the Coolfire Z80. They say “F0extends coil life and boosts flavours using alternating current (ACM) to produce a waveform that runs continuously while you vape. This is made possible by sending an electrical output in two directions across the coil, in a much more precise and efficient way”. Is that all nice and clear? I don’t have a degree in electronics so although I understand the words, I don’t really understand what is going on, much like most of Shakespeare if I’m honest, but what I do know is that the F0 tech works to an extent. Unlike the Sensis, they show recommended Hz levels when you go to adjust the F0 setting, 20-50Hz for RDL and 50-100hz for MTL. I know some people haven’t been able to detect any difference and it does take some playing around with the settings, but my experience with it is that it can make a subtle difference in taste of your liquid. It’s not necessarily that it makes it taste magically better, but adjusting the Hz can make certain flavours in the liquid more more prominent. When using the feature with the Zenith 2, it didn’t really make much of a difference but it was more noticable when using the mod with an RTA and actually did make one of my liquids taste slightly better. You may find no change at all, but it’s worth having a play about with the feature to see if it works for you. Today for review we have the Innokin Coolfire Z80 Kit including Zenith 2 tank which was provided to me by Innokin themselves. Right at the bottom of ‘The Face’ of the Coolfire Z80 device is the USB-C port for charging and firmware upgrades. That is, the sweeter an e-liquid is and the higher its glycerin content, the more it will tend to foul coil faster than other e-liquids. The Zenith II tank utilizes the Z coil range by Innokin which enables you to switch seamlessly between sub ohm and plus ohm vaping to fully customise your experience. What’s in the box? Using the mod is very straightforward, which is one of the defining characteristics of the Platform line. Case in point, the Z80 doesn’t even feature a temperature control mode—which is fine by me since I haven’t been vaping in TC for years now. The removable base of the Zenith 2 tank is nicely laser etched with the Platform Series logo and the designers Phil Busardo and Vaping Greek.

The threading for the battery cap is nice and smooth and I’ve had no issues with the battery door at all. Externals: Innokin is still making use of the same style of menu and functions from previous devices, which to start with may be a little confusing, you do eventually get the hang of things but it can take a few tries to figure it out. Generally speaking, most devices make use of DC (Direct Current) meaning there is a constant current to the coil which doesn’t rise or drop, it remains constant. Being a single 18650 device, the Coolfire Z80 kit feels nice in the hand, particularly as a thumb firer with your fingers wrapping around the padded section and your pinkie resting under the device for support.

Notable remarks

The Z80 is powered by an external 18650 battery, easily charged by the included USB Type-C lead. To change the battery, simply twist the battery cap door and remove it. Choose a suitable e-liquid: if you use a liquid with a high VG rate, the cotton and the coil of your coil will tend to clog up much faster than an e-liquid with a more balanced PG / VG mixture. Lets face it, Innokin is pretty good at making high quality products for the masses, and their Platform Series is no exception. Producing a fully adjustable wattage that ranges from 6-80w, with Innokin’s latest chip this device now fires the coil in just 0.003 seconds.

The Zenith 2 tank will take any of the coils from the ‘Z-Coil’ range meaning the Zenith 2 tank will suit a number of different vapers depending on your preference. The manufacturer suggests using evaporators of the Prism S line by Innokin - 0.8 or 1.5 ohms. The characteristics of the coils, as well as a miniature air intake, suggest that we are dealing with a simulated cigarette puff. At the moment, Prism T20S is sold separately, so if you are interested in buying a "cigarette box", you can pay attention to it. Discover the Innokin Zenith II 2 Tank, featuring a 5.5mL top filled capacity, stainless steel tank construction, and utilizes coils from the Innokin Z Coil Series. Constructed from durable stainless steel, the chassis of the Innokin Zenith 2 Tank can hold up to 5.5mL of eJuice, and can be refilled from the twist top fill system. Compatible with coils from the Innokin Z Coil Series, this tank is perfect for MTL or restricted direct lung vaping, delivering flavorful vapor that will tantalize the taste buds. The bottom dual slotted airflow has options for both MTL and RDL vaping catering to most vapers. To set the airflow, just turn the airflow ring. There are three small holes for MTL and a slot for RDL vaping. The first hole is a tiny bit larger—I am guessing it is 0.8 mm and the other two are 0.6 mm. Note that the original Zenith and the Zenith Pro came with larger holes, so the Zenith II can get super tight if needed. And unlike the Zenith Pro, the slot on the II can be opened on its own, without using any of the smaller holes.
