The first book from Anna Todd tends to attract a lot of fierce debates, mostly because for everyone that absolutely loves the novel, there is someone who truly loathes it. The book can be categorized as YA and has been compared to Fifty Shades of Gray for good reason. She had every reason to hate him, not only because of her mother’s warnings but because he was rude to the point of cruelty. But then she found herself alone with Hardin in his room and he sparked something explosive in her spirit. He never knew life could be this way, but truly if he did, he wouldn't have cared. He cared about nothing, not even himself until her. Before her, he was empty/ Before her he knew nothing of joy or completion, and this is his journey to his life Aft... Hardin Scott was never a character that I particularly liked, he was never entirely comfortable with his actions during the original run of the series, and while I understood his actions, I didn’t condone or approve of them. I don’t know yet, in case you were wondering, but I was blown away by this release. Again, I was skeptical that this would be just a goofy reimagining, the same story played out differently and done just for the money.I didn’t expect to appreciate it half as much as I did at all, but it was so much more than just a retelling. Many would say that by going this route, Anna Todd and her publisher were just trying to capitalize on the enormous popularity of the series; It may be true, but Before solidified several aspects of After in a way that the original series never could.
