I actually wanted to read this during Easter (because bunnies), but I just wasn’t in the right mind for it. So here I am a day later and it is a happy belated Easter read.

Rabbits are prone to getting stressed whilst travelling, especially on public transport. However, if you plan and prepare ahead, it can be a stress-free experience for you and your rabbit. Instead, introduce the carrier during playtime, leaving door open so your rabbit can enter it on its own. b) Entice your rabbit in the carrier with treats. The bunnies have taken over the bus and they’re on a wild ride across the streets of Sunnytown! They whizz past the bus stop, swerve around corners and zoom over crossings on a non-stop roller coaster adventure! There are bunnies on the roof! Bunnies in the aisle! DO sit down, bunnies, or you’ll end up in a pile! Eventually, they come to a stop … at the train station. And what’s that they’ve spotted? A TRAIN! Uh-oh, here we go again… A hilarious romp of a book, with a fantastic read-aloud rhyming text and spectacular illustrations.

It’s been six and a half weeks since the first (and only) time I’ve read this book before today and throughout that time my brain has involuntarily and quite randomly been singing/chanting at me: Bunnies on the bus! This is a hilarious read about a bunny bus driver who gets a whole bunch of happy and naughty bunnies in his bus and ends up having a whole party with them and driving like he is in the movie SPEED (for reals though, I do hope that he normally drives a bit more carefully and with less flying). Digitized colored pencil pictures, rendered in deep pastels, bring to mind a pepped-up vintage Little Golden Book. Keen-eyed readers will spot other madcap moments, including a police chase, occurring alongside the rabbits’ romp. Bunnies take over a city bus for a wild ride full of hilarious antics. Bunnies on the Bus is a hopping good time both for the story and the illustrations, which lend themselves to repeated readings/viewings.
