Last week Michael Flatley welcomed press to the London Palladium where his final West End show, entitled Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games, opens next Monday (1st September) for a limited run. Flatley’s productions have sold out in theatres around the world for years, and he insists this is due to such positive word of mouth. As the story unfolds, we get some nice female performances from Caroline Gray as heroine Saoirse and Andrea Kwern as bad girl Morrighan the seducer (boo!). We sat in seats K25-27 stalls. They were fantastic. The dancing was just awe inspiring and breathtaking. If you love dance then it's a must see. Choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, 40 of the world’s most outstanding young dancers and musicians take to the stage delivering electrifying performances that bring audiences to their feet night after night. In 2014, Flatley created Dangerous Games, a revised spinoff of Lord of the Dance. While maintaining 50% of the numbers from the original show, new numbers were introduced, featuring dancing robots, new songs, new music by Gerard Fahey, and rescores of Ronan Hardiman's pieces.

Flatley said, “I’m delighted that London has once again welcomed us so warmly, and to be able to extend the show’s run by moving to the very beautiful Playhouse Theatre makes me feel immensely proud of what we’ve achieved. I am delighted for my dancers that they can continue to perform in this great city.” These cast members were on Flatley's return tour throughout Europe and are on the 3D film which was later released on DVD and Blu-ray. Fast forward 20 years and the Flatley brand is going strong. Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games is the most recent incarnation and it filled the Waterfront Hall. But as i asked information of why he didn't attend i got given false information stating that there was notices up in the Theatre that he was not performing. .Michael: “It is my last performance! And what a great place here for me! I have always loved the West End since I was a little boy. I have had a place in London since 1996…it is now an honour to bring new young people, young stars to the stage. They have unbelievable talent and the world needs to see it. I am delighted to bring it to the London Palladium.” Q: What has been your career high?

The show was excellent ... Sheer outstanding skill and energy.... Two hours performance wasn't enough for me, I could had stayed there all night, watching more and more and more and more.......... with Michael Flatley – 28 June to 30 December: Ireland premiere, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games is directed by legendary Irish dancer Michael Flatley and tells the mythical story of a Lord who must fight dark forces threatening a futuristic world. The production contains dance, live music composed by Gerard Fahy, singing, acrobatics and even holographs. This was absolutely brilliant. Me and my husband went together totally for me but he admitted that he really enjoyed it too and that meant swallowing his pride! They have great moves, and indeed navels, but although the technical team looked up, I'm not sure it adds to the high energy show. The dancing was superb but overall the show was disappointing. No live music (even the on-stage instruments were mimed - very poorly). No real plot as far as I could tell and the whole show felt very disjointed. The costumes were far too revealing with no real reason to be. A shame as I was really looking forward to it. Nadine Coyle was one fifth of the pop group Girls Aloud, whose record-breaking success included over 4.3 million singles sales and 4 million albums sales in the UK alone. The Lord of the dance needs to protect his people against Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord. It's a dangerous task for The Little Spirit, who travels through time to help the Lord keep his people safe. As the dark power challenges our hero, this epic traditional Irish folk tale draws you into a compelling, unforgettable and truly spellbinding mythical universe. The show and the whole theatre experience was very enjoyable. The newly decorated theatre was wonderful and good to see the west end going from strength to strength well done dominion.

The show exceeded expectations. Loved it real feel good show. Only fault was it finished could have watched forever. All cast are amazing Too much emphasis on what the performers looked like. Girls over sexualised male lead loved himself. Was expecting far more dancers in the line up. Storyline almost none existent! Singing irrelevant. If you had to list the cultural definers of contemporary Irishness, you'd include Seamus Heaney, Van Morrison, maybe The Pogues and definitely Michael Flatley. Michael Flatley had been dancing up an actual storm over the last 20 years. Since the birth of Riverdance in 1994, Flatley has become a household name and the undisputed “Lord of the Dance.” Whilst his dances shall live on for decades, if not centuries to come, the time has arrived for Flatley to hang up his dancing shoes. Dancing his last on stage performance of his acclaimed career, Flatley bids farewell to his days as the Lord of the Dance at the London Palladium Theatre this Autumn. Bringing his famed Lord of The Dance: Dangerous Games tour to the Palladium (starring Nadine Coyle!!!), Flatley says goodbye in style (in a hail of flames and fantastically flailing legs.Nadine Coyle will reprise the role of Erin the Goddess in Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Gamesat the Dominion Theatre, London for 10 performances only from 13 to 21 March. Dancing was superb especially for those who like Irish dancing. Costumes, music, dance and signing all top class. Nadine: “I am delighted. I have been a fan of Michael and the Lord of the Dance since I first seen it…so the last 20 years. Everything Michael has done just gets better and better every time. When we first met and Michael asked me to be part of the show, I couldn’t believe it. I was on cloud 9 and I still am! Here in the London Palladium singing songs among such amazing cast and creative…I am just so delighted. I can’t thank Michael enough for this opportunity.” Q: [to Michael] How has the show changed?

The only issue I had were 5 ladies who arrived late, sat in front of us and talked throughout much of the show !! Other than that we really enjoyed our Birthday treat for my husband, who always wanted to see the original Riverdance. After this performance I really wish we had made a greater effort to see them. Our 21 year old daughter was with us and thought it was also wonderful! During the interval, I passed a young girl doing some traditional dance for her mother. Her delight and skill underlined what this show is all about. I personally think they could of gave us an offer of swapping the show date that i attended for a different day in which Michael Flatley were to perform..

Partly for the sheer sexiness of all that leg action, partly because of the music and the fact it still referenced the dances that many of us learnt at a tender age.
