So it looks like I might have found a solution. I found this adapter that I think could be use to run from the remaining 4pin 12 power connector on my power supply to the molex connector of the case. In both instances the loudest component in my system was a whining WiFi adapter on my motherboard (after I went all-SSD).

I've read the fan gets very noisy on high RPM and, because it's temp-regulated, I'm worried what would happen in summer (when the ambient temp can reach 30*C)... I suppose the only reason for the extra expense to replace the already included Fractal's Silent Series R2 140mm and R2 92mm fans with Noctua's A14 and A9 PWM respectively is PWM. Otherwise they appear to me very similar spec-wise. Popular Now: Nintendo 64 classic Perfect Dark ported to PC, playable in 4K 60 FPS with keyboard and mouse The HTTP 304 Not Modified status code indicates that there is no need to retransmit the resources you request – it will redirect you to cached content instead. It looks more like a monologue, but I'll proceed and probably this info would be helpful to someone. If you don't fancy installing any hard drives, the two white cages can be removed. Interestingly, when throwing a PC together inside the Node 804, careful planning of cable management needs to occur to avoid creating a hot mess. Having the PSU and main storage array located behind the motherboard and other components helps keep everything simple. With the cord attached and the system booting, you get the glow of blue LED coming out of the slit on the front bezel denoting system power is on. Just under the "a" in Fractal you can also see a white LED glowing as it accesses the storage drive inside the chassis. Final Thoughts Inside - undo the four thumbscrews and remove the cover - are three white drive cages each holding two drives in either 3.5 or 2.5-inch formats. Yes, that's right, an ITX case that can support six hard drives. The 3.5-inch drive mounts have rubber grommets fitted to help dampen down any noise. There aren't too many cube PC cases out there. This is more of a niche category, much like a small form factor chassis. Thermaltake's Core V21 is another fine cube case that would also make for a good NAS box or gaming PC case, but it doesn't support as many 3.5-inch drives as the Node 804 from Fractal Design.

Cooling 2 x 92mm front fan mounts (fan supplied), 1 x 120/140mm rear fan mount (140mm fan supplied) Fractal Design's Node 304 is in many ways a surprising jump forward in case design. We've seen SilverStone, BitFenix, Lian Li, and Cooler Master all try their hands at mITX cases with varying degrees of success, but there's just no set design language when you get down this small. The conventions we take for granted in ATX case design don't really apply here, but Fractal Design has tried for something fairly different with the Node 304, even by mITX standards.I'm also somehow skeptical about the passive mode. While in some open-air tests the fan stayed off even at 200W load, I wonder just how low would be the threshold in a small case, with fan at the bottom...
