Bouncing around my music library it soon became obvious that the A10s shine in Pop, R&B and Dance rather than Jazz, Folk or Classical. It’s very much a case of being better at some genres rather than being bad at others, though. Coltrane’s “Love Supreme” still sounded good, as did Myrkur’s outstanding new album “Folkesange”. On the song “Babylon Sisters” by Steely Dan, the overarching bassline was nice because it was deep without being boomy or sloppy, but there was just a little bit too much of it for my taste. If it was toned down a bit, I think it would’ve allowed the mids to breathe a little more, but as such, the bass tends to bleed into the mids and kind of takes over the mix. Welcome to the @regancipher review of OneOdio's over-ear hybrid ANC headphones, the upgraded for 2022 Focus A10. With the glut of TWS passing through the RC test bench, it has been a while since I've documented a review of a wired/wireless headphone here at Headfi - the last ones being the Soundcore Q series and Tronsmart Apollo Q10 - but the competitive price and impressive feature set definitely catch the eye with the A10, and with OneOdio being a specialist over-ear vendor, rather than a TWS manufacturer going off on a tangent, this has been a review I've been really looking forward to doing, having put the product rigorously through it's paces over the course of the last few weeks. These are by far the most consistent and great-sounding mics in Bluetooth headphones, rivaling even higher-end models.

Most wireless headphones have a long battery life that lasts at least a few days of daily use. The one in the A30 can play music for up to 25 hours. Midrange is often recessed and distant. It does have a peak in the upper section, though, which often makes it overly bright, almost to the point of being strident. This is especially noticeable with high-pitched instruments such as trumpets or violins. Just like with bass, transients are not really fast, and detail is limited as well. On the other hand, extra bass from the ANC OFF mode helps balance out that slightly aggressive higher frequencies. Treble The cups swivel 90 deg so you can move them away from your ears, a common feature that DJs use to hear the outside world. The earcups also fold up for easier storage. The difference between the two modes is mostly in the bass, which gets surprisingly flat with ANC function enabled. Also, it slightly lowers sound volume. BassStill, after some time, you will start noticing an aching sensation, which will force you to take a break. For me, the A10 are a pleasant listen, with good detail and adequate resolution - it's a shame there's no app for users to tweak the sound to their own personal preference, and hopefully this will come in time, at least for iPhone users who don't have the benefit of Wavelet to call upon. Mid-frequencies are pretty similar between the 2 modes. Lower mids are relatively neutral and sound natural.

Well made, comfortable and acoustically competent, there’s not much more you can ask for from a pair of budget wireless ANC headphones.

Onto the audio, and as you can see from the graph, OneOdio have gone with a very upper-mid-centric 'monitor-style' tuning which favours a clean, lean sound signature, giving prominence to female vocals and instruments with a very gentle and lightweight lower frequency response. Bass is overly present, with a large bump in the mid-bass section which has quite steep slopes on both sides. It often sits on top of mids, masking their lower section. It’s rather limited in speed, with transients being slow and then having a long decay; this makes bass not quite detailed nor layered.

Incredible Sound Quality: Custom 40mm large-aperture headphone drivers for the A Series offers clear, natural, and balanced audio quality that’s decent for most music genres, a robust sound that perfectly balances clarity with just the right amount of bass. Headphones use basic SBC and more Apple-friendly AAC Bluetooth codecs. You can’t really expect more than that at this price point, as it would only add to the cost. Is There an Audio Lag? Dual Device Bluetooth Connections: Under Bluetooth mode, Oneodio noise cancelling wireless headphones support connection between 2 devices, so that you won‘t miss phone calls after you already connected your phone and other device, and can shift devices connection at your choice. When it comes to the highs, the OneOdio came out on top there for me because even though it was a little edgy at times, it was more detailed and accurate than the Koss headphone, which has fairly rolled off highs. Strings just had that extra zing when listening on the Pro 50.

The OneOdio A30 features hybrid ANC, and it’s actually really aggressive. It cancels out noise so well that the vacuum chamber effect it has in your ear is actually quite scary. It’s the first time I’ve used a pair of headphones with this level of ANC. It’s good because it cancels out noise very well, but not that good if you’re uncomfortable with that vacuum chamber effect. The OneOdio A10 headphones also have a best-in-class ambient listening mode. This allows you to hear your surroundings while still enjoying your music. This is perfect for when you're travelling and want to be aware of your surroundings, such as in trains, flights, metros, and other public spaces. You can flip between ambient and noise-cancelling modes with one button. There’s no Ambient sound mode to boost surrounding noises. You have to turn off the music or take them off to hear ambient noise.

The headphones contain 40mm speaker units so the overall sound is very good. The noise cancellation is also great. However, everything from the upper midrange upwards is elevated, which gives the sound too much power. At OneOdio, everything revolves around excellent sound, tapping the visceral power of music for all. We have infused decades of experience and passion into creating music to life. Fueled by cutting-edge tech and unwavering passion for quality, we create high-end headphones and audio equipment designed to elevate your listening experience. So far we have firmly planted the OneOdio flag in the DJ, Monitor, ANC and HIFI industries. Besides, we are also devoted to the high-tech consumer electronics industry-sports open earbuds.Expect a reliable connection with a standard Bluetooth 5.0 range, a basic set of audio codecs, zero lag for watching movies, but no support for multipoint. The OneOdio Monitor 60 are relatively well-priced for what they offer. We like that they come with all the cables you may need, which is helpful for newbies and price-conscious customers. They're robust, too, so we're reasonably confident they'll last you a long time. The A10 have a very natural, fresh tonality and head stage, with good width and depth. The focus on the midrange, with a recessed lower frequency response permits a perceived sense of depth and positioning, and allows for good separation - it's easy to separate instruments and locate exactly where they are around you. I tested with a number of different genres and found imaging to be very accurate throughout. Despite the clean nature to the sound signature, trebles are not too bright - there's texture and finesse to tams, shakers and cymbals, without ever sounding shrill or edgy. The fact the OneOdio Monitor 60 Wired Headphones come with all of the cables you'd need is great for newbies. (Image credit: Future/TechRadar/Jennifer Allen) OneOdio Monitor 60 review: Value The OneOdio A10 are not great at providing passive isolation, possibly due to the shape and materials of the earcups.
