This book has the cleverest literary ending of perhaps any book I've ever read. It hasn't got anything to do with the story either. In all Walliams other books and films there is a corner shop owner, Raj, who supplies the schoolchildren with sweets and sympathy although his business methods are somewhat dubious and definitely not hygenic. In the last chapter he complains that he isn't in the book. Quite audaciously he goes on that his legion of fans will not stand for this. Through the extremely funny and brilliant writing, he becomes not just a figure from Walliams' other books, but a real person who has written the afterword. Read the lists of ‘Loved’ and ‘Unloved’ things in Chapter 6. Can you think of other things to add to these lists? urn:lcp:ratburger0000wall_h1m1:lcpdf:f328aa07-5dcd-42b5-8816-f10a0d533914 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier ratburger0000wall_h1m1 Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t2f858b19 Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780007453535

At the end of Chapter One, the author asks the reader lots of questions about who murdered the hamster. Can you write about who did this… before reading on to find out the answer? In Chapter 10, there is a chart showing the height of different people / creatures. Can you carry out a survey to find the height of children in your class and use these to create charts and graphs? David has proved himself as a dramatic actor in BBC2's 'Capturing Mary' with Dame Maggie Smith, in BBC1's Agatha Christie series 'Partners In Crime', as Frankie Howerd in the biopic ‘Rather You Than Me’ for BBC4, and on the stage in Harold Pinter’s 'No Man’s Land' starring alongside Sir Michael Gambon. Mr Stink, Gangsta Granny, The Boy in the Dress and Billionaire Boy have all been adapted into TV comedy dramas. David’s books have also been made into theatre productions including Mr Stink, Gangsta Granny, Ratburger and The First Hippo on the Moon.

Design a machine that might help you to smuggle an animal into school (see Chapter 7 for lots of ideas). From an adult perspective, it's a wonderful book, full of imagination and comedy, and some little references that I think only adults would understand. This is my first book by Walliams, whom I am a huge fan of in regards to his comedy, but it definitely won't be my last. It is when she finds a cute baby rat in her bedroom and strives to keep him safe from her stepmother and Burt the evil burger van driver, that we are taken on a hilarious, touching and sometimes gruesome adventure. This is a book about a girl called Zoe. Zoe's mother dies when Zoe is young and during the following years she obtained a step mother called Shelia. Shelia is a cruel character and very unloving towards Zoe. However, she is also troubled by a girl in her school called Tina Trotts who is also very cruel and unkind to Zoe.

Chapter 12 begins with the question, ‘What is the worst thing that could ever happen to you at school?’ Can you make a list of possible answers? Could you use one of these as the starting point for a story?

También hubieron escenas un tanto crudas y con un lenguaje no tan delicado como se espartería en un libro infantil. This book would be good for independent readers or as a teaching-tool for examining themes such as loneliness, isolation or issues such as bullying. Ratburger is a children's book written by David Walliams, and illustrated by Tony Ross. It is the fifth book by Walliams, and won the Children's Book of the Year Award at the Specsavers National Book Awards in 2012. [1] Plot [ edit ]
