real time according to the setting information. In device mode, because the infrared operation involves So I am not going to lie; I was very disappointed when Logitech finally announced it was killing the Harmony line of remotes and hubs. Although they had teased killing it for years prior, we Audio Enthusiasts never thought this day would happen. Anywho, so here we are, and Harmony is no more.Enter the Sofabaton X1, the only hub-based remote on the market that anyone is talking about. They also have improved the IR remote learning function. I have not had any issues finding a code for my devices, but I tried to teach the Sofabaton X1 commands, which worked for me this time. However, learning commands is still imperfect, requiring you to play with the remotes positioning. But the Sofabaton X1 was able to learn them successfully. Still Not Working Marantz SR7011, NAD S250 Amp, Behringer A800 Amp, MiniDSP DDRC-88A, M&K S-125 (LCR), M&K CS-29 (Surr), M&K SW-85 (Top), 2 x Arendal 1961 Sub 1S (Subs) I reported that my Sofabaton X1 could reach all of my devices without the IR blasters, which is mostly the case. However, if I open my curtains while cleaning and try to turn on my LG B9 with the hub, it struggles to turn it on. I assume it is something to do with the glare from the sun on my glossy speakers and TV. So this tells me that you might have the same issues if you have the Sofabaton in a bright room. This could be true of other remotes as well. I didn’t notice it with my Harmony, however.

The distance between the hub and the device is about 3m. The remote control controls the Roku device will not be sensitive; I think this would be a nice product if you had a simple system, like a smart TV and a sound bar. It does control the most basic functions of my Denon AV receiver. I don’t see a way to select the various inputs that wouldn’t confuse anyone but me, let alone control a second zone or control audio modes .We has been involved in technology research and development for more than 10 years, and our Boss is well aware of the common flaws of universal remote control products currently on the market. Motivated by this,he created his own brand: Sofabaton and dedicated himself to exploring, developing, and improving this industry to create a better experience for users. So it’s been a whole month since I posted my review, and I have been using the Sofabaton X1 exclusively as my daily remote. So while I still don’t feel as if I am an expert with the remote, I can give you all a good sense of if it’s worth your cash. And if you don’t want to read the rest of the update, I will give you the skinny. I think Sofabaton will make this a great remote, and I recommend that you get one if you are willing to work with the shortcomings now for a great remote later. OK? Let’s discuss. Updates Update: My original review was April, 2022. So here I am, a year later to update my review and give my last major update on my experience with the Sofabaton X1 and Hub. Scroll all the way to the bottom to skip past my review/one month update for my one year update. The instructions are the weakest piece here, and I am being generous. The instructions focus heavily on pairing the hub/remote and setting up the devices and activities. However, the instructions do not speak to the proper placement of the hub for correct use or how to connect and place IR blasters. The hub is also where you can teach the system to learn commands for devices not currently in the database. For example, when you need to “learn” a command, the Sofabaton will direct you to point the IR sensor of your device’s remote at the circular icon on the top of the hub and press the button for 3-5 seconds. I will be honest and say that I could not get this to work for me. I tried it with my LG B9 and my Pioneer Elite CD player and could not get either to register a command with the Sofabaton. When the remote control is synchronizing device information, the APP can also upgrade after receiving the HUB upgrade prompt. If the user is someone who just wants to choose one Device at a time to control, they’d be better off with Sofabaton’s other, cheaper remote, the U1. codes etc. There is a bit of a learning curve and set up can be intimidating if you are new to thesevia IR learning Mode meanwhile, and you could scroll wheel to easy switch between 4 Bluetooth devices at

Hi all, I’m a suffering Harmony user – we lost the smart remote to a water spill a couple of months ago at learned at that point about the line being discontinued. Sad day indeed.

Honestly this review does not match my experience with the Sofabaton, and I think advising people to buy them at this point is wildly inappropriate without more realistic details on the stuff that is broken. mode.Make your home entertainment e life unprecedented minimalist. Say "GOODBYE" to the intricacies of It is unclear if the TV is left on when switching from one activity to another (e.g., watching Chromecast to watching Roku). I also had to set whether the power command needed separate power on and off keys or a single key. If the device's commands are in a database, why should I have to set them? The database should be coded to know what buttons are used to change inputs. I’m confused by your update. In the initial review you said the Logitech required 2 IR blasters while the Sofabaton required none. In the update you claim the Sofabaton IR is not as good as the Logitech because it doesn’t turn on your TV with the curtains open. As mentioned last month, our X1 remote V9 and Hub V13 are ready to use now.By the way,for WiFi version, due to the firmware database did not include WiFi version before, that's why you only can see the version keeps as 0.0.0,but it will not effect your using no matter which WiFi version is,thanks for your attention. We will focus on the WiFi upgrading next time to be 2.0.8,thank you for your understanding. The image I showed you is the one for our test ,but the version did not finally release, thanks for your patience.

To the best of my knowledge, the only way of doing that on a phone/tablet is with software like Control4 which is considerably more expensive than a universal remote. With the sudden development of technology By IFTTT/IOS shortcut Sofabaton Remote is accessible to yourAPP issue: Open the activities switch to device, Remote control Activities, device list without Syning; Some of the iOS software is nuanced, and you have to carefully look at what at first looks like a simple statement is actually an option that can be selected. It's not a horrible interface, I think I just need to get used to it. I have an OLED, Projector, motorised screen, AVR and numerous sources including Nvidia Shield, Virgin Media box, UHD Blu Ray player. One press of an activity button on my Harmony remote, for example, turns off my OLED, turns on the projector, lowers my motorised screen, powers on the AVR and sets it to the correct source, plus opens the Nvidia shield with a macro straight into Kodi. Build quality feels good, though I could see a need for more than 2 IR ports for more complex setups, it Sofabaton is still very committed to the remote. One year later, we are up to Rev.13 on the Hub firmware, Rev.9 on the remote, and Ver 3.3.1 of the mobile app. That’s a lot of updates in one year. And their codebase is getting pretty expansive. I added some older gear to it, and it had the codes for it. The Sofabaton app allows you to share your codebase for learned commands. So effectively, the community is contributing to the whole codebase. I haven’t had to learn any commands yet, but if I do, I will share them with the community.
