But it took me a while to get Cecelia Ahern´s sophisticated story. First, I was thinking "what on earth is she talking about?" It wasn´t till I was 50-60% through the novel when it hit me! Then I was obsessed with this specific characteristic and was eager to find out how Alice will OWN her LIFE. My only complaint would be that the latter half of the book moved way too fast for me, bounding through the adult years of her life where I really wanted to linger hour by hour with Alice. I like this author so was keen to try this book. I also loved the cover and this drew me in. We meet Alice who sees colours around people. Everyone has a colour, and Alice can tell what kind of person you are, or what you are thinking by the colour that surrounds you. She is 8 when the story begins, and she has a complicated home life, living with two brothers and her alcoholic mother. This was a lovely book. Alice sees colours in people from when she was 8, her mum and brothers sometimes struggle to understand her, as does Alice herself. In seeing colours in people, she knows their thoughts and emotions, which is often not pleasant, to the point where Alice wears sunglasses and gloves and a mask to protect herself from the bombardment she gets from them.

A stunning, wonderful, powerful tale: Alice lives with her mother and two brothers, one older and one younger. Alice has synaesthesia (to see or feel in colours)only this isn't recognised until she is older and sadly she is seen as being different and a trouble maker. She sees the anger in her mother and the calm in her older brother. Imagine being able to see and hence make a judgement of someone by the colour surrounding them. When there is a crowd you are overwhelmed, when seeing strangers you can make a call. When Hugo, her older brother, goes to university and her younger brother is on the wrong side of the law it is left to Alice to look after her mother as she is now in a wheelchair.I have to admit this is the first book I have read by Cecelia Ahern, and I could not put it down. A Thousand Different Ways tells the story of Alice who has synaesthesia and is seen as been different and difficult as she tries to navigate her way through her life with her mother and brothers. Cecelia Ahern is a master storyteller at the absolute peak of her powers. Her heroine, Alice Kelly, is completely unique – beguiling, complicated, extraordinary – and she’ll change the way you see the world. Just you wait’ CLARE POOLEY I don’t want to give too much of the story away, which I think is so easy when giving a review – I highly recommend this book. Such a beautiful story of family and love.

I did an author event in the Margaret Mitchell House in Atlanta, Georgia. I toured the house where she wrote Gone with the Wind. What is the best writing advice you have heard? Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware -Finding your way is never a simple journey. 336 pp. Englisch. I was fortunate to get an advance copy of this book via NetGalley (I chose it because of the cover) and I am glad that I did because it did not disappoint in subject or characters. Her descriptive prose takes us to the near distant past where a little girl is the middle child of a bi-polar single mother. Her older brother is a light and her youn Such a, unique, extraordinary story, I was drawn in from the beginning and could almost feel the colours of the different characters as Alice saw them this was so beautifully written. I cried so many tears and will miss Alice kelly for a very long time.Original thinkers (when they use their powers for good.) You are supreme ruler for a day. Which law do you pass or abolish? As Alice matures she searches for her own place in life, with a career and a home of her own. She tries to come to grips with her synesthesia and learns different coping mechanisms. This is an uplifting tale of people coping with different problems (for example, Alice's best friend from school has Tourette's syndrome) and managing to succeed. In a Thousand Different Ways" is the story of Alice Kelly and her dysfunctional family. Alice's mother struggles to raise her 3 children on her own but, as they grow up, they all leave home for different reasons. Alice suffers with what she thinks of as a curse but some others see as a blessing, not that she tells many people about seeing colours around everything and everyone. The audiobook narrated by Amy McAllister was good, especially the distinction she provides to different characters. A beautiful cover – very apt for the story. In a Thousand Different Ways by Cecelia Ahern Book review: In a Thousand Different Ways by Cecelia Ahern

This story is pretty fast pace and I think and I think the writing is just absolutely wonderful clearly wonderful Celia never disappoints me. It's definitely one of those stories which is unforgettable and I don't really want to give too much away so that people actually get to read it and enjoy it like I did This is a truly beautiful book and one that will stay with me for a long time. I don’t think I’ll quite be able to put into words how much I loved this and was touched by the story. I’ve yet to read a book by Cecelia Ahern that didn’t induce a huge range of emotions in me and this is no exception. Welcome to Alice’s world. From the first line as I stepped into it I was completely invested in her. Alice has a gift, or is it a curse? She sees people from their colours. She’s affected by their moods, their loves, their likes, their joys, their sorrows and their bitterness, she’s drained by it and it shapes her whole world. Everyone she meets has colours, until one day she meets someone without.Alice initially wants to isolate herself from everyone; she lives in solitude, which brings her even more sadness and disappointment. Slowly, with the help of true friends and nature, which never fails to heal, she learns to control her gift and live her own life. For me, the story moved at a good pace, covering relationships and life, without the content becoming entrenched in the details, that the reader is able to fill for themselves; the style of narration allows the reader to sense the weight and impact of Alice's decisions. The Story over all I felt had quite a bit of magical realism in bit of magical realism in it which really drawn me into the story itself, If your a fan of T.J klune then I think you will live this .

Speaking of light, she sees colorful lights around people (auras) which overwhelm her when she is a child and help her know who to trust when she is older. We follow Alice through her difficult childhood and teenage years with a selfish, uncaring mother, one brother who wants out and another who seems to sop up all his mother's negative energy. Alice sees things differently and it affects how she lives. This book follows her story as she adjusts and comes to know herself. I finished this 2 minutes ago and tears are still streaming down my face!! And I so rarely cry at books !!
