As everyone has said, the name “Contradiction” fits. It’s like an aquatic and oriental at the same time. Interesting for sure but I don’t know if the end result is a successful fragrance. Recently replenished to the collection as a gift and again I'm in the process of working out what it is I find so wrong with it given an array of good ingredients. Please note that Royal Mail currently classes perfumes, nail polishes, flammable liquids and aerosols as "hazardous materials" and will only accept a limited number of these per parcel. My preferred aspect is the bottle, and it's one of my favorites ever designs, it's masculine, substantial, and unique, it's a great bottle to handle. The fragrance is not as in-your-face as some of the other Calvin Klein men's fragrances, e.g. Eternity and Obsession. I liken this to a fougère-like take on Halston Z-12 type fragrance, or the most recent Mr. Burberry, just not strictly a fougère.

the bottle is genial. just art. old (from the 90´) but still modern and still unbeatably till now <3 i bought it in every avilable size (30ml, 50ml, 100ml) just to have it as an art objekt in my living room. the scent is very nice, too. but not my very favorite i kinda blind bought this...let me explain, i sort of remembered this frag ie using it long long ago and loving the scent i at that time had no knowledge and/or expectations from a frag performance wise (my teens), it is quite cheap, and when i got it, at the time before hand, i was quite certain that i would absolutely love the scent, as i did before...the bottle i own is 2021 i think...The bottle exudes the woody overtones and sensual nature of the perfume. It has elegant curves and dark colors throughout. i read somewhere that no fragrance lasts shorter than 4 hours lol i could name 10 right now without even turning on lots of my neurons....the bottle i own is nearly half gone now, i have used the frag about 5 times since i got it...this is just to illustrate how bad the performance is and also my overuse of perfume he he I personally don’t like it. It’s far too synthetic smelling and feels very cloying on the skin. It’s a great example of early 2000’s men’s fragrances, so in that way I’m a little nostalgic for it. It’s a good representation of that era. Contradiction by Calvin Klein is a Amber Woody fragrance for men. Contradiction was launched in 1999. Contradiction was created by Carlos Benaim and Pierre Wargnye. Top notes are Lime, Lavender, Lemon, Clary Sage and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Pepper, Cardamom, Coriander and Nutmeg; base notes are Vetiver, Musk, Sandalwood and Ebony Wood. Eucalyptus as a fragrance note is very strong and normally completely takes over in a fragrance, but here it is mixed well so all the notes can come through. Although I sometimes feel it pushing past the other notes. I see why its voted as the strongest note detected.

The Contradiction bottle is an understated aluminum matt with just a little color showing through at the bottom. It sits so beautifuly on my skin. Warm, quiet, creamy and sexy, but not screaming. Subtle and feminine. a little bit of citruses,a bit of woodsy notes and a bit soapy at the first sniff,it doesn't seem to be something at least at first 10 minutes.

Contradiction, released in 1997, somehow manages to encapsulate something that is very 90s in essence, but instead of leaving it at that it puts forth a vision of a fragrance for the following millennium. The composition is somehow at once floral, metallic, musky and aquatic. It is dominated by eucalyptus without making it smell like eucalyptus, instead giving other components such as the lily, peony, sandalwood and musk an eucalyptus treatment which is what creates that cold, metallic feel. As it dries down the sandalwood, musk and tonka soften that initial cold blast, but in a very pleasant way. It definitely develops, but not into a different fragrance and the original characteristics are still retained. Ok. I opened it. Found the initial spray very unique, literally unique. I have been using hypnotic poison, poeme, shalimar, samsara, cinema, chanel no.5 and a lot more like curious, boudoir, purr, so many, <> this fragrance is totally different. I can feel orange, musk, and the eucalyptus note is in the drydown which is so amazing. I am sure, if used in moderation, every person will notice its magnetic charm.. There is something really mysterious about this perfume and that gives it the enigmatic aura which i dont see in any of the top fav perfumes. Its really my most loved fragrance. Versatility: 4 out of 5 – This scent is very versatile; in my opinion it works well for either day or night, autumn, multiple occasions, for males around 25-50. Same with Contradiction. I really like it, really enjoy it (there are moments when I even feel emotional :-D towards the fragrance ), but all in all - for some reason it doesn't seem to "gel with me" enough to make the effort to get it (or keep it in this case as I already have a bottle). Got it as a present (it's good to have an anniversary, even it's your 40th, helas...)Smells like fresh herbs on me, I find it suited best for summer, but it's quite nice! I can't sniff the rose at all, only eucalyptus and maybe some lilac. No lilies-of-the valley, also, even I love their smell...

I gave up on it about 15 years ago when it disappeared from the shops, and I did so with a very heavy heart because it had been my all-time favourite fragrance, and, for the years that I wore it (1998 onwards), it was the fragrance I wore every single day, to the exclusion of all others. Oh, how I loved it. It went down pretty well with the men I knew, too. Totally agree with Kysyona's review... This is the fragrance for one who pressed the "reset" button... Despite being discontinued, I spotted it again in a shop and finally gave in and bought a bottle for myself. What a wise decision! This is perhaps the finest male fragrance of the turn of the millennium. Although nowadays it appears retro, the fragrance as such is beautifully composed: elegant yet casual, youthful yet manly, sweet yet fresh. Hence it is aptly titled, and it comes in a stylish bottle.When To Wear Euphoria: The fruity and floral scents all make this a fun fragrance to wear on special occasions. It’s an explosion of sweet meets flirty.
