I like Cool Water, but I am not going out of my way to buy it anymore. In 2022, Davidoff's Cool Water is an outdated "old man" scent--perfect for grandfathers or men who like the smell of it. I think the nostalgia for the scent and its coziness are why people are so passionate about it and love it so much, but it is relatively outdated scent-wise...and there is nothing wrong with that. If you like it, then that is all that matters, but don't take my word for it regarding this likable, mass-appealing fragrance. Davidoff Cool Water is the definition of “Meh” its longevity is decent with about 3-5 hours on my skin. Sillage however is on the weaker side… with 2-3 sprays it’ll fine but not good. it’s not strong enough that it’ll turn heads from 10 Ft away. but it will bring a pleasant scent of freshness within 2-3 feet. Once again this fragrance is on the weaker side. Cool Water is memorable though for the day in 8th grade science class when my mostly full bottle fell out of my purse and shattered on the floor! My poor, sweet teacher was horrified. Fellow classmates weren't happy with me. Every student in every period was inundated with Cool Water for weeks and nobody forgot it for the rest of the year. I can't imagine how that would go over nowadays.

It should be in EVERY collector's collection simply because it Fathered modern fragrance. It sent a ripple through the fragrance industry for sure. So masculine, so sexy, so ASSERTIVE but so cool. This fragrance smells martian to me. Nowadays fragrances play with mixing masculinity and femininity but Cool Water doesn't play any of the charades. At all lol. I, Union aficionado that I am, wore the blue. I believed that Cool Water was simply more interesting to smell. There's not much to say that has not been said about this fresh classic, the grandfather of modern aquatic scents, but I feel like Cool Water is more about the green and musky side of freshness rather than watery or airy. I've got a 75 ml bottle from the 2021 batch, so cannot judge about the original 80s-90s batches. Crafted of translucent blue glass accented with silver rings, the iconic curved bottle shimmers softly, like a treasure from the sea.Our battlegrounds, I like to believe smelled as the Creed lab that created Green Irish Tweed would have before its perfection. Not in a "bad scent" awful but in the sense that the fragrance dissipates immediately. Like you bought water in a bottle.

Longevity is moderate, leaning towards the weak side, so you have to reapply it, but i dont mind that cause i love it! In the heart, sandalwood, neroli, geranium, and jasmine weave a tapestry of elegance, while the base sings of musk, oakmoss, tobacco, cedar, and ambergris, a symphony of the elements. Cool Water transforms the air, a testament to its lineage—a game changer that introduced aquatic scents for men. It stands among the best, a fragrance that speaks of nostalgia and seduction, reminiscent of Green Irish Tweed by Creed with a hint of Armani's Acqua di Gio.The only blue frag I've had was and is Nautica Voyage and I really like Voyage but comparing it to CW I personally think CW smells better. Formulation for Sale: No No No No No. They changed this so much, it is unrecognizable from the original. Try it out in an official store selling the new formula first. A muddled dishwater attempt at a replica. It's missing the pine/rosemary-like top notes, and the aqueous notes are near non-existent. It's missing the elegance. The way the classic scent would shift and take you on a journey, is gone. They should have named this new formula something else and just said that they discontinued the original. Aspen in its mighty mint green apple opening and lavender heart was such an easy one to enjoy. Not to be outdone the marine coolness and lavender top notes of cool water smelled refreshing as a drink on a hot day.

I imagine this would be the smell if someone took a bunch of fresh melons, a few flower petals, put them into a water bottle and after waiting a few minutes, they took a whiff of that water, it would smell like this fragrance. It’s a nice, refreshing mix of watered down sweetness from the fruit and a little sharpness from the petals. I read a review a couple scrolls down saying this smells like grease/deep fryer once it settles in your skin. Bought the perfume and didn’t think it would apply to my skin chemistry. there was a time when i was a kid (when this fragrance was popular) i loved this smell. now its only a shell of itself. it doesn't last long, it smells extra synthetic, and it almost burned my nose off when i sprayed it. I love this scent, there's something magical about it, fresh, watery, tingly sparkly, small sweet flowers on the dry down. One of my signature scents. Other one is J'adore Dior so make of that what you will. I am IN LOVE with this fragrance. Its most definitely more masculine/unisex and fresh, but i adore ocean smelling perfumes. This is very aquatic and citrusy to me. It smells like water sports and the kind of scent people would wear when going to the gym in the summer. It smells clean and fresh. I got this scent in a box with body lotion and shower gel and thought "Cool, never had an aquatic scent!". Uplifting peppermint rosemary geranium neroli (Prozac in a fragrance) perfectly balanced with sexy base notes to solidify you are happy energetic yet masculine with a youthful oceanic calone watery note that keeps this youthful and forever in your 20's. Both are ALL TIME greats. GIT is obviously "better" because of the quality ingredients and performance, but CW is so cheap you can just douse yourself in it (which I do) and constantly re-apply.

I have only got this recently. My first use was, blah, generic scent of ozone or something, you know how generic scents are like a smell of windex or something. But, this scent has an interesting light sort of sweetness of peppermint and lavender in combination. alost like a light scent of bubblegum. There is a somewhat watery scent, perhaps the calone. Anyways, I wore it a few times and found it ok, but then I wore it today and I think I kinda am beginning to like it. It is not a monster, so can be worn without shame or being self conscious. It has a mild scent, but is fairly interesting. I was smelling something very nice after a few hours, like a sandalwood type of light spicy musk or something, and I am not sure if it was me and the fragrance, but I think it might have been. I was a bit enticing. anyways, I have to wear it some more to be sure it was the scent. Its an older scent from the 80's so I kinda also like it just for that reason as well. I do like the peppermint lavender combo, and like I said I think there is a light touch of wood spice and perhaps musk in there as well. It does have a bit of a salty dried ocean water skin scent later on as it has dried down. I will have to keep experimenting with it. Though not a fav scent or one to rave about for me, but I think it;s a good easy reach type scent, and maybe there is more to it. Juniper berries, neroli, green and dark blue seawater. Like many other commenters, this is one I wore in my teens as it was affordable, but I've got to say - it holds up! Subject to availability. Visit your nearest store. (Availability in your nearest store is not guaranteed and some products are available in selected stores only)Overall it’s pretty close to the skin and not super long lasting. It smells slightly too masculine and powdery for my preference. I don’t like it but it is a cheapie. I remember this smell following me around at school as everyone seemed to be wearing it as a must-have for some reason.
