A collection of evil stuff can be seen when Petey shows Sarah Hatoff his dangerous items. These are references to the past books in the series. Petey's youthful "mistakes" and "bad choices" were chronicled in the graphic novel where he made his primary debut, Super Diaper Baby 2: The Invasion of the Potty Snatchers.

The doctors came in and revealed that Greg's body was dying and Officer Knight's head was dying.HD is a robotic character in the Dog Man series. He is created by Petey, originally as an extension of Li'l Petey, and later joins Dog Man's family. Aside from having many gadgets on his own, his superpower is creativity, where he shows his talents in drawing. Dog Man arrives at the police station and the Mean Officers start bullying him because of his cone. Dog Man presses the button on the top, which causes him to change into his Mecha-Suit. The mean officers run away in fright after this encounter, and they hide behind the plant Dog Man usually hides behind. Dog Man turns off the Mecha-Suit and discovers that Chief is writing a love letter to Nurse Lady. Dog Man doesn't like the letter, and expresses this by blowing a raspberry. Chief crumples it up and throws it away and admits that he'll always be alone. Dog Man then comforts Chief after realizing what he's done. Piggy is enjoying freedom, but it is short lived as Crunky and Bub join him, singing the Friendly Friends theme song to the tune of Jingle Bells. Piggy silenced them, as they have found Dog Man, asleep under the tree with Chief and Nurse Lady. He whispers instructions to exact revenge, but Crunky never heard and yells, waking Dog Man who chases them. They fly into a sandwich shop called “The Beach” where Daryl and his Uncle Larry opened a headquarters, which Piggy will use for evil.

The musical interlude in Chapter 1 is a parody of the song, "The Greatest Love of All" by Michael Masser, with lyrics by Linda Creed. To Piggy’s chagrin, the Fleas drop pies to an unsophisticated rendition of “Friendly Friends” reprise. Piggy rages as they sing it 153 more times. Outside, Sarah Hatoff and Dog Man run into 80-HD, Petey and Li’l Petey on a bench, who refuse to save the day. She says the same thing Petey said, reconvinces them, and Petey is mad for losing credit for it.Grampa decides to spray living spray on the lunch bag, making it come to life as "Munchy". Munchy starts smashing buildings, but gets thirsty. He starts to drink nuclear juice, but Grampa warns him to stop, or it could give him a stomach ache. Munchy starts to run to the pond, where Flippy is teaching the 21 frogs and the one tadpole ( Molly) about adverbs. One of the frogs named Melvin (a know-it-all) keeps on answering the questions, until all the frogs start to run away. Flippy is grabbed by Munchy, while the frogs and one tadpole hide in the grass. He can not be made in real life, as cutting off a head is pretty much death, and there is no Living Spray in real life. The book acts as Pilkey’s voice spoofing protests made internationally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
