I am quite convinced in my own mind that these premiers artistes have either a subway laid on for their especial use, or some indescribable overhead arrangement which quietly drops them in and takes them out, via the roof. I remember the time when, like an ordinary, peaceful, and contented playgoer, I used to arm myself with my Shakespeare, or my "Saints and Sinners," or my "Times," and proceed to one or the other of the orange-smelling parts of the theatre and take in the drama like a respectable citizen. Now things are changed. I find myself an outside man one of the crowd of dramatic hangers-on. I get mixed up with coatless gentlemen in white silent slippers, "cutty" pipes and red noses, juvenile newsvendors, horses' legs, violin, cornet, and trombone cases, faces which are a credit to the noble army of barbers, bantering ladies, and flowery, crush hat fops. And I like it, too. I simply revel in it. Endeavour as I may and do, I cannot keep away from stage doors. I have been moved on many times; I have even been conducted out of a street in which one of my favourite stage doors is situated, but this simply has the effect of driving me on to another.

Doorkeeper — Hope On Demand His Name is The Doorkeeper — Hope On Demand

There is no door the Holy Spirit cannot close and no door He cannot open to ensure that the proper access is given at the proper time in the proper way according to the perfect will of God. He is The Doorkeeper of God’s great Kingdom.

As for Drury Lane - but there, let me confess at once that I aspired too high. Surely it was absurd to endeavour to see a

Take the Lyceum stage door. Everyone knows where it is surely. Well, I have stood night after night in the immediate vicinity Yes, without doubt mine is an exceptional case, a somewhat pitiable one also, I am at times inclined to think, and yet after all I verily believe I squeeze more enjoyment out of the stage doors than many inside habitues squeeze out of the actors and actresses - lady members of the profession kindly note that I write in a figurative sense - at any rate judging from many of the newspaper reports - I beg pardon, newspaper criticisms. The song isn't much," observed the Press Agent (who had just been getting some material for paragraphs from the leading lady), "but it's made a good deal of by the girl who sings it at the Comedy. Carrie Moore, who took Letty Lind's place in 'The Girl from Kay's' is an Australian. Pretty girl, too, and deuced clever." Somebody remarked that the hotels would be closed if they didn't hurry, and the rest of the Super-master's speech was "cut."My Cosy-Corner Girl" is the geni of the production, and when sung by Henry Lytton it is a geni in the right setting. The old Adelphi is crowded nowanights, so book early if you want to see the Girl." I ever remember seeing the chorus change its wardrobe quite as often in the course of an evening. Pretty, winsome Agnes Frazer is altogether charming; Florence Lloyd, who is usually one of the best 'boys' on the boards, quite shines in a coster-girl study; a one-time great Gaiety favourite, Phyllis Broughton, lifts a very small part into something like importance; Walter Passmore, always an artist, gives a capital sketch of a dog trainer, and is funny without being vulgar. The songs are not striking nor 'whistleable,' but one song and chorus is built round the prettiest idea that has been seen and heard for many a long day."

And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: The letter H can be useful to create some two-letter words but there are some longer, high scoring words too. Here are some examples. For one day in thy courts is better than thousands. I would rather be an abject in the house of God, than dwell in the tents of sinners. dor'-kep-er (sho`er): The gates of an oriental city and of the temple courts so closely resembled the door of a house that the same Hebrew word was used for doorkeeper and gatekeeper. It is often translated by the less definite word "porter". In the preexilic writings ( 2 Samuel 18:26 2 Kings 7:10, 11) reference is made to porters at the gates of the cities Mahanaim and Samaria. In these early writings there is also mention of a small number of "keepers of the threshold" of the temple, whose duties included the gathering of money from the people for temple purposes, and the care of the sacred vessels ( 2 Kings 12:9; 2 Kings 22:4; 2 Kings 23:4). They held an honorable position ( 2 Kings 25:18), and occupied chambers in the temple ( Jeremiah 35:4). The same term is used to describe officers in the household of the king of Persia ( Esther 2:21; Esther 6:2). Perhaps the Doyen among stage door keepers in London is to be found installed at lyceum. This individual is quite a veteran, and was attached to the theatre when Sir Henry Irving was far less familiar to the player going public than is the case nowadays. He’s an old soldier, wearing several medals on his breast, and he is said to be a very sound judge of the drama. In some of the London and provincial theatres the duties of stage door keeper are undertaken by ex actors who, finding as they have advanced in years that opportunities for playing parts grow more difficult to secure, have thankfully accepted the position.Calling on His Name: Spirit of God, thank you for opening for me the Door of salvation that I might come in to faith in Jesus. I know that there is no closed door before me today that You cannot open if it is pleasing to God. I appeal to You, The Doorkeeper, to open doors for serving Jesus and doors of answered prayer. Close the doors in my life against those who come to harass the sheep of God. Amen.
