Digestive problems such as abdominal pain or indigestion, particularly in people with a history of stomach ulcers. Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should sprinkle a few drops of lotion into the hand or onto some cotton wool and then smooth or massage this gently into the painful area. Repeat after 10 to 15 minutes if needed. When convenient, apply the lotion after a warm bath. Methyl salicylate is a derivative of aspirin and has an anti-inflammatory effect. When applied to the skin it is absorbed into the underlying tissues, where it reduces pain and inflammation in the local area.

Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream to avoid getting it in your eyes or transferring it to sensitive areas of skin. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately. People with an intolerance to aspirin, ibuprofen or other related painkillers (NSAIDs) taken by mouth. Get medical advice from your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms persist or get worse despite treatment. This lotion is unlikely to significantly affect other medicines when applied to unbroken skin. However, the manufacturer recommends that people taking warfarin should get advice from their doctor or pharmacist before using this lotion, as if enough salicylate is absorbed through the skin it could potentially enhance the anti-blood-clotting effect of warfarin.A mixed respiratory alkalosis and metabolic acidosis with normal or high arterial pH (normal or reduced hydrogen ion concentration) is usual in adults and children over the age of four years. In children aged four years or less, a dominant metabolic acidosis with low arterial pH (raised hydrogen ion concentration) is common. Acidosis may increase salicylate transfer across the blood brain barrier.

Radian B is a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme invovled in prostaglandin synthesis via the arachidonic acid pathway. Its pharmacological effects are believed to be due to inhibition cylooxygenase-2 (COX-2) which decreases the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in mediating inflammation, pain, fever and swelling. Antipyretic effects may be due to action on the hypothalamus, resulting in an increased peripheral blood flow, vasodilation, and subsequent heat dissipation. Inhibition of COX-1 is thought to cause some of the side effects of ibuprofen including GI ulceration. Radian B is administered as a racemic mixture. The R-enantiomer undergoes extensive interconversion to the S-enantiomerin vivo. The S-enantiomer is believed to be the more pharmacologically active enantiomer. Precaution

The dose should not be repeated more frequently than every four hours and no more than 4 times in any 24 hour period. There are currently no other medicines available in the UK that contain this combination of active ingredients.
