From the pictures you can see: The diameter is 10.0 mm, The pitch is 1.0 mm and in the jaws of my calipers it looks fairly parallel. With its generous 70cm air line, this model can accommodate most cars with ease. Simply enter your desired pressure and the unit will begin to inflate your tyres, and then shut off when it’s done. On the downside, this tyre inflator tends to skip the last one to two units.

The RAC 900 is a 30Amp machine, hence if on full load is 3 times over a "ciggy lighter's" rating as cyberyacht points out. I keep mine at home as accessing directly onto my car's battery is "challenging". They said it was not up to the job and if I used the RAC 900 on these tyres it would not be covered by the warranty.

Product Overview

strokes of the best pump could add 12psi, but don't forget that the tyre being inflated during the test was an ordinary car tyre and that only relatively low pressures were involved. It would be completely unrealistic to expect that pump to be capable of inflating one of your motorhome's tyres from 0psi to 69psi with 288 strokes. (Even if it could, that's still a helluva lot of strokes.) Tyres will gradually lose pressure and most people's requirement for a tyre pump will be to 'top up' that pressure occasionally. A 12V pump is ideal for that purpose, but, to handle the pressure and volume of air in a motorhome's tyres, the pump needs to be a good one. I wouldn't have thought that the 42 seconds the on-test RAC-900 took to inflate a motorhome tyre from 50psi to 60psi can be classed as "an eternity". C– Diameter 2mm, Length 32mm, open ended with 1mm Hole 5mm from end. Inflate balls with this adapter. Unfortunately, the Screwfix master plug is as stated a 10A rated item, whereas the Ring RAC 900 the OP has is rated at 30 Amps, massively higher. A few weeks ago I passed a friend in the street who was inflating his car tyres on his driveway witha RING Automotive Air Compressor RAC900. He was eagerly showed me his new tyre pump which was powered by his car battery. He explained that it had the advantages over other tyre pumps because it:

It measures psi (pounds per square inch), BARs and kg/cm 2 Carrying Bag For The Air Compressor RAC900 In terms of layout, this T-Maxx product and the RAC900 are practically the same. The compressor’s power leads clamp directly to battery terminals, and the large coiled hose allows plenty of distance between the compressor and the coupling/gauge/deflate button. While the power lead is a smidgen longer than the RAC900’s, the air hose is shorter. And, ultimately, the Ring is the faster unit, with this one taking five seconds short of two minutes in the inflation test.

Sorry to hear your yellow hose is damaged and needs replacing. You could try binding the hole with several layers of good PVC electrical tape if the pipe is clean and the holes are somewhere away from the connectors on the ends. Jump starting is now fast, safe and easy, thanks to the new slimline Lithium Jump Starters from Ring I've no interest in further cluttering up my garage with the type of compressor you bought, but I do value the versatility of a powerful 12V tyre-pump that takes up little storage space and can travel with me in my motorhome. If people are looking for a pump most suitable for inflating motorhome tyres at any time or place, then I don't think there's anything better on the market than the RAC-900. If they just want a mains-powered pump, then they can do as you did, but they won't be able to travel with it. We also liked tyre compressors with easy-to-read gauges, and digital gauges seemed to fare particularly well. Another desirable feature is an auto-stop function, which will automatically turn the compressor off once you’ve reached the pressure you want, meaning you can leave it working while you get on with something else. A product with lights will be easier to use in the dark, plusan integral high-volume low-pressure pump will mean that you won’t need to take a separate pump with you on tour.

Ring RAC900 Professional High Power 100psi Air Compressor

I’ve used it to top up car and motorbike pressures and once to seat a stubborn tubeless tyre on a mountain bike. I like the screw-on fittings and long hose but generally think a digital gauge is easier to use than an analogue one. It’s a hefty bit of kit, but super speedy and surprisingly quiet.I also have had a halfords one for about 5 years - seems bomb proof - use it for m/h, car, motorbike, pushbike - the works + the gauge seems accurate! Night time use with the RAC830 is safer and easier thanks to the LED light. Includes three adaptors for inflating sports balls and other small inflatables. Comes with a storage case.

Surprising the number of times my tyre(s) have needed a top up due to temperature pressure loss, minute leakage, slow puncture evident after a 2,3, or 4,week campup. The nearest forecourt pump may be miles away, and bound to be in the wrong direction and only putting out 2 Bar car pressures, or U/S at times. Practical Caravan is part of Future plc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. PROFESSIONAL-GRADE TYRE INFLATOR: used by the UK’s leading breakdown professionals. The RAC900 features anti-vibration rubber mounted feet for stable placement when inflating a tyre, thermal overload protection, waterproof on/off switch so it can be used in all weather conditions and inline fuse to protect vehicle electronics. But while the speed is great, niceties such as a digital gauge, an auto-stop function and lights, are conspicuous by their absence. On the plus side, you get a 7m-long coiled hose between the compressor and the screw-on tyre-valve coupling, and the compressor itself can be up to 2.4 metres from the battery, thanks to long power leads that clamp directly to the battery’s terminals. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/12v-van-tyre-pump-recomendations-please-/49906/So what are the plus-points of the Ring RAC700 4×4 Air Compressor? Well, it’s designed for 4×4 car tyres as well as standard tyres.
