One very subtle design aspect that you might miss when first using the IE 200 is a small vent towards the top of the nozzle. This is part of the tuning system that works in tandem with the ear tip positioning. There is a more obvious additional vent on the front plate to allow the dynamic driver to breathe. Now this is where it gets interesting because aside from the differences in isolation and comfort performance and the associated sound signature changes with each material, they are also designed to work in tandem with the nozzle’s dual-fit system.

The IE 200 nozzle itself is a bit short but the extended L-shaped housing does add some additional penetrative depth so you can get them quite close to your concha basin and with the right tip you can improve both the fit and seal further. The IE 200, as you can see in the pictures, is small in size just like the IE 300 but it does look unique. They probably are the least impressive looking IEMs of Sennheiser’s IE-line-up, but you can clearly see they have their own style.

Sennheiser Proprietary MMCX connectors. Though a very good connection with benefits not easy/cheap or abundantly easy to source out new cables especially if you only have one product that needs this connection.

Giving it 3 stars because of the ear tips provided. They are not good and finding a fit is extremely difficult. Had to switch to ones provided by Kato which worked perfectly IE600 – Again, it takes all the strengths of the IE200 and brings them to the next level. The stage feels a bit narrower but taller. The sound is a little more “in my head” versus the IE200. Not a good thing or a bad thing. Again, there is more bass and treble energy with vocals being similar. Stereo imaging and instrument separation proved highly impressive, too. During the intro to the 2013 remaster of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” there’s a subtle rattle of maracas to the left of the soundstage and what sounds like swirling wind to the right of it. These were both readily identifiable and accurately positioned but also very much part of a cohesive arrangement and not detached or distant from the lead guitar. That ability to convey individual elements distinctly while creating a fleshed-out, engaging sonic picture is something the IE 200 do very well. Treble: As I know many IEMs will have issues with treble but Sennheiser has done a great job here too. It's on the spot not going up and down but perfect. Over to something a little sprightlier, Big Thief’s folk-infused Spud Infinity, and the IE 200 communicate the joviality with a clear, agile midrange. The spring-boing sounds at the farthest sides of the soundstage are a reminder of the earbuds’ breadth, while their audibility as they move beneath the vocal and guitar melody is a testament to the Sennheisers’ finer-detail retrieval. These are tiny housings, with compact dimensions reminiscent of the older Westone W series, and perhaps even smaller. This is a 3-piece L-shaped plastic composition finished with accentuated but very smooth curves. Westone W20 – Less rumble in the sub bass and a bit thinner overall. Staging is a bit more narrow but sightly taller.

One of the reasons headphones and earphones in India are more expensive than overseas is because of the Goods & Services Tax in India. All products sold on Headphone Zone carry a GST compliant invoice and all products sold include an 18% GST.The IE 200 earpieces are very small, and they perfectly fit my ears. The canal is short and small in diameter, so it will fit all shapes of ears and stay perfectly in place. Of course, tip selection here is critical – as it is for the sound -, but more on that later. The small units disappear in your ears and that’s something I like a lot. They’re even small enough to sleep with and wearing them for hours is comfy and painless. Does the dual tuning work? Yes. Is it easy to use in reality? Not in my case, but maybe your ears are different. We'll be interested to see how the IE 200 does for Sennheiser - it has every chance of acting like a gateway drug for those who've been interested in going down the audiophile route but were put off by the prices. BASS: Fantastic! Mindblowing! Extraordinary Dont know what word needs to use. It's pure, Instant, and, loveable. Really can't express it in words but truly love the bass in IE 200. Become a fan of this bass. Conclusion: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Blindly open your wallet for IE 200 this is not going to make your expectations down. it's full meals you have everything to taste. It's very hard for any company to deliver everything in one IEM for a small price. Kudos to Sennheiser and the team for coming up with IE 200 Series.

According to Sennheiser, the IE 200 has a frequency response from 6Hz to 20,000Hz, which suggests they can hit the upper limit of human hearing and reach past that in terms of bass with the 6Hz figure. You get two varieties of tips with the IE 200: a single-bore silicone and a single-bore foam, both with fitted dust and wax guards on their bore exit points. Trumpets here are silky or should sound that way with good timbre, overall mix how does it present, and of course Poncho’s drums )Brainwavz B400 – Bass bleeds a bit into the mids here with the B400. Vocals are again a touch more forward and intimate. Again what a beautifully done stage presentation. I was wishing for more resolution with this song on the clarity and vocals but a bit of a trade-off with less high frequency energy Overall, I am very pleased with the low-end performance of the IE 200. Some planar IEMs in this price range offer a more robust sub-bass, but the IE 200 offer a more physical mid-bass punch that evens the odds. In the bass-boosted profile, the treble is smoothly rolled-off with a subtle boost near 15kHz to add some air into the mix.
