In use this means that colors display slightly less punch, and contrast is a little worse – although, admittedly, the difference is minor. You’ll only really notice the differences if comparing the various handsets side-by-side, and we found the display fine for its purposes. These earbuds are equipped with the ability to toggle between “Music” mode and “Gaming” mode by triple-tapping either earbud’s touch control. I wasn’t sure which mode was supposed to be which, but each did produce a very different sound. One mode sounded a bit tinnier, with sharp highs and mid-range, but little to no base. The other mode sounded a bit more muffled, with mostly mid-range and some base, but almost no highs. Generally speaking, I found the tinnier mode to be better for listening to music and podcasts, and I didn’t have much use for the more muffled mode. Activating Music mode enables a precision tuned audio experience. Deep bass and high frequencies benefit from this greatly. The 10mm drivers are plenty to provide a rich dynamic drive experience. The key one of these is the presence of Shark Space, a pre-installed app – when you open this, you’re shown a carousel of all the games installed on your device. Playing the titles through the app delivers lots of extra options. You can select to mute or limit notifications or calls, set the balance between processing power and battery conservation, map the triggers and do many, many more similar things.

Making hands-free calls at my house, people haven’t even noticed that I was talking through the hands-free; they thought I was talking directly to the phone. The voice is heard clearly and powerfully. First impressions on the hardware is good. They are well made, the case is well designed and everything about this thing screams GAMING!! I’ve had these for almost a year now and I couldn’t be more satisfied. It’s affordable, but the quality of it never lets me down. The sound quality is great and they feel comfortable in my ears. And durable too! I dropped them so many times but they still worked no matter what. Putting the device through the Geekbench 5 benchmark test, it returned a multi-core score of 3,531. This marks it out as one of the most powerful phones with this chipset, beating the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus by around 100 points and the Xiaomi 12, OnePlus 10 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro by even more. Speaking of calls, you won’t be using these buds just for gaming or media. They sound decent enough though a tad bit faint which is to be expected of microphones so far from your mouth. They will get you through a phone/ video call or Discord chat without any problem though.

Great for competitive gamers, but with a few rough edges

This can help you improve your gaming experience to a fair degree – but it doesn’t quite offset the overheating problems.

What is clear is that Bass you can feel was the first thing they briefed the audio technicians on for this build. Sound TLDR: Great product for music and gaming, great customer support. Will be buying from them again soon, I definitely recommend. 10/10 Mids in my opinion sounded better on the gaming audio setting, they were a little more forward in the sound signature. The Bluetooth connection is relatively stable, and I have not had cuts or interference at reasonable distances. The maximum range of these BS-T1s is medium, they allow me to move a couple of rooms away from my computer, but when I get to the kitchen, I lose signal (like most similar headphones). The headphones come with 3 pairs of pads of different sizes to use the ones that best adapt to our ear. Each headset mounts a 40 mAh battery with which we can enjoy 7.5 hours of autonomy at medium volume. The box has a 400 mAh battery, allowing us to charge the headphones about 3.5 times, so the total battery life exceeds 30 hours. I personally liked the game mode mode for audio as well as gaming. The good news is you have both to choose from and you get to choose.

Treble is fine. Anything more might become a little fatiguing over longer gaming and music listening sessions. It’s not overly edgy. It does stand out over the bottom end though so there is decent separation for that at least. The 3.5 hour battery life on the T1 buds themselves is pretty poor compared to others I’ve tested which average 5-6 hours. That said, there are nine extra charges in the case for a total of 35 hours of battery life. I should point out that the 3.5hrs wasn’t enough for my typical work day usage because my day is split into 4-5hour chunks with lunch break in between. Also, considering that the buds take at least an hour to fully recharge you might want to think about how you use them for long stretches. Should you buy?The box is charged via a USB-C port located on the rear. And, no, it doesn’t have wireless charging. It also does not have the typical 4 LEDs that indicate the remaining battery level, but the front LED will blink 3 times every 5 seconds when the charge level of the box is low. The only complaints I have its that the battery doesn’t last too long, but if you charge them for a few minutes they’re good to go again. And the protection screens inside the earbuds fell off, but I believe that’s my fault for bad management. They worked just fine though, I just needed to be careful not to get water in there. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. As mentioned above, both the earbuds and their charging case look cool, with a sort of 80s retro sci-fi style. The bottom end is round and deep – definitely sculpted to be present. Easily matches the AirPods Pro for feeling in the lower frequencies but you have to make sure you get them deeply seated in your ear. If there is even a small leak in the seal you’ll lose the deep and fat bass frequencies.

Black Shark Headphone Wireless Earbuds with 5.1 Bluetooth

We did have a little trouble with the autofocus, especially on the macro mode – which, on occasion, seemed dead-set against actually focusing on subjects; but a shot reset usually fixed this. The way the case lights up is so impressive and it certainly adds to the excitement of the experience using them, even if it adds nothing to the audio quality. This is helped by the presence of pop-up physical triggers along the right edge of the phone, which can be assigned a function for your game, to turn your smartphone into a device that more resembles a gaming controller. This setup delivers quite an advantage in games. Thanks to that, the headphones are light, only 4.5 grams, while the set (headphones plus box) stays at 42 grams. When fully charged, all six of the case’s green LEDs are lit, and the case looks even more sci-fi. The earbuds themselves provide about 5 hours of use, and the charging case will boost this to about 20 total hours of listening time. In practice I found this to be accurate. My daily use of the earbuds consisted of wearing them during a workout for about 1 hour, then using them to listen to a podcast or audiobook for another 30 minutes to an hour. With the charging case as their booster, the earbuds lasted almost a full week before I had to charge the case again. The headphones are fitted with 10mm diameter dynamic drivers, more extensive than other similar headphones. It’s hard to overstate how useful this feature will be for certain users. Plugging in the device while you’re having your morning shower will top up the device with enough charge to see you through the whole day; or, if you’re running low on juice in the evening, just five minutes of power will get you over the finish line.
