Description

With its versatile connectivity options, the speaker supports various devices such as a computer, game console, TV, or smartphone. It features Bluetooth connectivity, enabling wireless audio streaming from compatible devices. Additionally, it offers digital and analog inputs for connecting to different audio sources. Edifier R1850DB stereo speakers promise great sound quality and excellent features at a budget price. Considering the company’s previous success with similar budget speakers, we wanted to investigate if these would be a good fit for a home music studio.

The 19mm silk dome tweeter is also fortified to protect against punctures which can happen on cheaper, low-quality speakers. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. I feel like I’m doing the R1700BT an injustice here because its an absolutely fantastic speaker, but the R1850DB is just that little bit better with the controls.

My first impression was that I really liked the design, they fit in almost any environment, except perhaps really old school cottages. A strange comparison, but I have reviewed a pair of Edifiers in an old cottage before over at Fullsync. While it does cost more, the added flexibility for home theater integration and upgradability down the line is an excellent bonus. The flared rear bass port is securely mounted to avoid rattling or tearing with use or when being moved around. The Edifier R1850DB comes with a 4-inch woofer that manages low and most midrange frequencies. Also, it uses a 0.75-inch tweeter to handle the high ends. This is a standard configuration with many studio monitors. Currently I have the Edifier R1280T and I was wondering would there be much of a difference upgrading to any of the speakers I listed above? I noticed the specs to these speakers are very similar (excluding R-51m) the biggest difference being how much watts it can do, besides extra ports. These speakers will be used primarily for movies and music. The speakers will be in my basement on a desk. I will also be connecting these speakers to a subwoofer later on assuming I go the Edifier route. Remote control is also included with the speakers. It will come in handy to control some functions if you don’t like getting up every time you want to change something. Edifier 1850DB The specifications are where I do a double take, then a triple, and a fourth before I realize what I’m seeing on paper is real. How can you possibly put so many features into a speaker at this price point, box it and deliver it? The value proposition, the functionality, and as we will find out in the sound portion of our review is all there. Build and Aesthetic Impressions As is the norm with bookshelf speakers of this design, the two speakers cover both active and passive. Apart from the rear of the speakers, they are the same size and you won’t be able to distinguish between the two.
