Description

Mice can fit through surprisingly small spaces. As such, we recommend mesh that has a hole size no greater than 6 mm x 6 mm. As a general rule of thumb, if you can get a biro through a hole a mouse can fit through too. If you’re not looking to stop rats and mice are the only concern then our galvanised mouse mesh will likely do the job. This can be bought in our online shop here. Mouse mesh should always have a maximum hole size of 6 mm x 6mm. The Mesh Company Rodent Mesh can be used to seal up any holes, gaps, or vents in a property to prevent mice from entering your home or business. Our "European Galvanized Mesh" has a pre-galvanized finish (pre-galvanized means that the wire has been hot dipped galvanized before welding) and has been manufactured in accordance with European Standard EN 10223-4 which makes it a high-quality choice. We also offer a "Galvanized Mesh" finish which has been hot dipped galvanized after welding. Both options offer excellent rust resistance when used outside. The European option has a slightly shinier / smoother finish. Flexi ArmourBuilding Seal Mesh - is a highly corrosive resistant, flexible, galvanised stainless steel knitted mesh which can be swiftly installed around the perimeter of cladded buildings as an impenetrable barrier to rodents.

Our rodent mesh range includes options in copper, stainless steel& galvanised. We have it by the full width, smaller width rolls and by the cut sheet. Cost: As mentioned above, galvanised steel is typically less expensive than stainless steel. This can make it a more cost-effective option for those who need to cover a large area with rat mesh. STRONG MESH – it is a 1/4″ Galvanised Steel Welded Mesh with 0.6mm Wire, and 6.35mm square aperture. The welded mesh is made of hot-dipped galvanised steel, offering maximum resistance to rust and a long-use life. Galvanised steeland stainless steel are both commonly used materials for rat mesh. Here are some of the differences between the two:We recently produced a handy articlethat goes into greater detail on our range of RatMesh. Product Range An ideal product for proofing points of entry into buildings and structures used by pest rodents. Corrosion resistant galvanised steel finish means it can be used indoors and outdoors. The Mesh Company has an enormous range of rodent control wire mesh products. We truly are an industry leader among suppliers of weld mesh and woven wire materials. With the capabilities we have in Rats can access buildings via the drains and drainage valves or rat flaps can be employed to combat this issue The Mesh Company woven stainless steel mesh offers a high level of protection against corrosion. Moreover stainless steel is an alloy which is highly resistant to rusting and is therefore longer lasting than most other wire mesh types.

The Mesh Company Rodent Mesh is designed to prevent rats, mice and squirrels from entering structures and buildings. The complex control process of rodent proofing is an important step in making your building clear of rats, mice or squirrels. Rodent infestations can lead to serious consequences, spread disease and lead to a deterioration in hygiene. In the unusual event where delivery is repeatedly refused or no effort is made to accept delivery, we reserve the right to pass delivery and return courier costs to the customer. Our Stainless steel wire mesh contains at least 16% chromium which makes it extremely resistant to corrosion. We offer a huge range of different specifications, available in both AISI304 and AISI316 grade stainless steel. Grade Ideally, you can control rodents by making it impossible for them to gain entry to your home. However, it may be difficult to exclude mice completely since they can pass through ¼ inch openings, approximately the width of a pencil. Rats can squeeze through ½ inch openings. Our Rodent Proof Wire Mesh and Mouse Mesh products are ideally suited to these applications

Usage

Experienced staff: Our staff are knowledgeable, experienced, and can provide expert advice and assistance to customers. This can be especially helpful for customers who are unsure about which product to choose or who have specific requirements. We also regular write blogs and help guides to help explain what our materials can be used for. Standard insect mesh (aka fly mesh or flymesh) has a hole size of 1.36 mm x 1.36 mm. This is small enough to stop the vast majority of unwanted insects, including flies, mosquitoes, wasps and bees. Insect mesh is available to buy in our online shop insect mesh category. Soffit Vent Mesh

The welded wire mesh can also be used prior to filling gaps with expanding foam to prevent rats and mice from chewing through the foam This is the best selling rodent-proof mesh in Ireland. This is a 6 metre long roll which is available in either 300mm wide or 900mm wide – our best-selling RatMesh. We sell standard insect mesh in various widths. The narrower width rolls (50 mm to 400 mm) we describe as soffit vent mesh or simply soffit mesh. Regardless of the name, this mesh is identical to standard insect mesh. Soffit vent mesh is available to buy in our online shop soffit mesh category. Midge Mesh The stainless steel rodent mesh option has a 1mm hole and a 0.4mm wire. The wire per inch content is high in relation to the opening, so the mesh forms a very tough grid when used over small spaces especially. Furthermore the mesh has a good open area % so the flow of air through vents will not be impacted. Carry out research into the area in question. These points of ingress can be on higher levels as much as they’re likely to be on the ground floor. You would require grade 316 stainless steel if you require to use the mesh in salt water or coastal environments as it uniquely resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel wire meshis a harder material than mild steel and galvanised steel, so this is sometimes a preferred option for rat and mesh protection in office and factory environments

Filtration – Poor. This mesh has a large open area, consequently it is popularly used as a fence or barrier. With 25mm holes, it is not commonly used for standard filtration applications Welding – Possible. If the galvanised metal is properly prepared, they can be welded in the same way as uncoated steel square mesh provides an effective barrier to rats, but is also ideal to prevent mice as they cannot fit through a hole that small. The grade of stainless steel that we use for these rolls is standard grade 304 stainless steel. This is the industry standard grade of stainless steel that is used in the woven mesh industry. It is long lasting and, equally importantly, it provides very good corrosion resistance.

Below, we have outlined the properties of some commonly employed meshes. These include mesh to prevent the passage of rodents (both rats and mice), insects (including specifically midges) and for use in beekeeping applications. Of note, much of the information below has been advised to us by the British Pest Control Association (BPCA). Rodent Mesh (rats and mice)
