Description

The coordinate indicating where an object is between the celestial poles is declination. Measured from the celestial equator it ranges from 0° to 90° at the north celestial pole and to -90° at the south celestial pole.[4]

After assembling mount it to a tripod and go outside. The tripod will be a major tool because you will use it to align the setup with the north celestial pole. Sky-Watcher includes an illuminated polar finderscope to aid the polar alignment process. The finderscope features a circular grid reticle for the northern hemisphere, consistent with todays popular polar alignment apps. For astronomers in the southern hemisphere, the constellation Octans is built into the reticle as well. Even without a clear view of Polaris, the EQ Pro can be polar aligned using our SynScan hand controller. Simply choose one of the visible stars listed and use the latitude adjustment screws to center it in the eyepiece.

Silent Yet Precise Slewing

Now we know the coordinate system of the celestial sphere. But how do we locate a reference point to use our coordinate system? The North Celestial Pole will only change with your latitude. And can be located easily by the north star. Here is an interactive demonstration, you can change the latitude and hit the switch so you can see where the celestial sphere is located.

I got three things with it that are in my opinion essential - Right angle polar scope eyepiece, new power cable (lynx one) and a bag for the head. Sky-Watcher offers simple solutions for users who would like to attach their smaller telescope to a convenient computerized system but do not wish to deal with the weight of the HEQ5 or EQ6 mount. The EQ5 Pro mounts use the same Go-To system found in the HEQ5 and EQ6 Pros - SynScan. It allows you to point the telescope at a specific object or even tour the skies with a touch of few buttons. The EQ5 SynScan mounts are the perfect instrument for novice visual observers to enjoy astronomy with minimal setup time and in-depth knowledge of the night sky. For novice users, the user-friendly menu allows automatic slewing to 42900+ objects. With a mission to encourage wellbeing for everybody, it takes a dynamic approach to projects to offer affordable, long-term fitness opportunities.Sunshine Gym works closely with clients to develop outdoor fitness areas that suit a wide variety of needs and abilities. The freely-accessible range includes cardiovascular exercise units, strength building stations, and equipment designed for light stretching and warm ups. There are huge star databases you can use. I will include the links below but for now, I will use Wikipedia for the coordinates of the star Arcturus. the coordinates of Arcturus are 14h 15m 39.7s , 19° 10′ 56″ first we have to convert this data to degrees, so our setup can process it.I used https://www.swift.psu.edu/secure/toop/convert.htm I did not get into details since this is something like an introduction to positional astronomy. If you want to learn more I will include the links that were really helpful for me. There are also problems that you can solve to practice what you have learned. This way you will be able to calculate the coordinates of a star with a given latitude and time. Sidereal time is different than solar time. A sidereal day is about 4 minutes less than a solar day. Because of the Earths orbit around the sun. I'm not going into details on how to calculate Sidereal time. I will include some links below if you are interested. You can use a Sidereal calculator. Local Sidereal Time (LST) indicates the Right Ascension on the sky that is currently crossing the Local Meridian. So, if a star has a Right Ascension of 05h 32m 24s, it will be on your meridian at LST=05:32:24.[5] In other words, if you face the north at 0h Local Sidereal Time. the Vernal Equinox Point(0h Ra) will be right above you. to understand it more clearly open this animation Like coordinates on earth (longitude and latitude), two coordinates define a point on the celestial sphere, Declination, and Right Ascension. set date-time according to (seconds, minutes, hours, day of the week, day of the month, month, year)

Like Earth, the celestial sphere also has an equator, north pole and a south pole called celestial equator, celestial north pole, and celestial south pole. These are just projections of Earths equator, north pole and a south pole on the celestial sphere. The Synscan Hand Controller fell through a traversable wormhole from the 80s. RJ11 as a data connection in 2023 is an.. uh, choice. There's an RJ45 right next to it! Why not two of them?

Latest model with USB port.

The EQ6-R Pro uses Stepper motors with a 1.8° step angle and 64 micro steps driven. Stepper motors are quieter than servo motors, providing accuracy up to 1 arc minute without waking your neighbors from buzzing motors. Using our proprietary SynScan hand controller, the EQ6-R Pro provides a user-friendly interface with automatic slewing to over 42,000 objects in the night sky. The hand controller can also connect to a computer using the supplied RS232 cable (USB adapter available), enabling computer control with most astronomy programs. For the astrophotographers looking to reduce Periodic Error, the SynScan hand controller has built in PEC training that can be configured while in the field!
