Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. Each piece is half a cm larger than stated (it's sort of in the drawing, but there's no drawing for the 2 door), so I have had to cut away bits of wall to get three of them to fit in the space I had thought they would fit perfectly in. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. This furniture shall be anchored to the wall with the enclosed safety fitting to prevent it from tipping over. Some panels were a little tight to get seated during building, but all went together cleanly in the end.
