While I was more than overjoyed by his parts and his page time, I just could not get into this volume the same way I did volume one. Favourite part of this volume is the discovery that Junta really is one of Anzu's childhood friends that she simply never recognized or knew his real name.

I have always enjoyed shojou when the protagonist is a female - I was obsessed with Lovely Complex because I adored Risa. In the first volume, Anzu’s life was turned upside down when a magical creature, Riri, transported her to an altered reality where she no longer had access to any of her favorite things. Halloween special about protagonists swapping bodies streams on YouTube ― Remember the fake Ple Ple Pleiades x Kage-jitsu! I can’t help but feel like I know where this is going to go, but I’m excited for it because I don’t think it’ll have a classic shojo ending. One day, a Love Cupid or "wizard" named Riri appears with the news that, to combat Japan's declining birth rates, wizards from the magic realm will help young people with no romantic experience find love. Due to declining birthrate assumed by the decrease in romance opportunities between men and women, Riri is sent to assist Anzu in experiencing real life romance with a pool of " ikemen" for her to choose from. But our teen girl finds all these situations annoying and refuses to fall in love no matter what romantic set ups occur. It does, however, become abundantly clear that's not remotely the point here, although it still feels a little uncomfortable.

Anzu blackmails Kate into letting her see Riri, which they're able to convince their higher-ups to allow. They appear to be cunning and manipulative; resorting to anything possible just so Anzu can encounter shōjo manga-like situations. Anzu really is an eminently engaging heroine, especially as she soon ceases the more expected panicked reactions to her ongoing romantic-comedy contrivances and instead resolves to face them head-on.

She exhibits many yandere stalking tendencies, such as waiting for Tsukasa before and after school, sending him packages under false names, and even drugging him so they can be alone in his room. She has repeated embarrassing interactions with him, but is put off by his reserved, aloof personality. Her and Tsukasa are both very attractive, becoming a pair of siblings that are "blindingly beautiful. He has older sisters who are boorish and slovenly around his house, which has made him less interested in having a dating life. It's definitely one that I will keep reading and would read over and over again because it's so entertaining.

A young high schooler, she just wants to live her life surrounded by the good stuff: video games, chocolate, and her cat. Yukana is sent to a medical facility when Hijiri uses his family connections to put a stop to her Uncle bribing the authorities. We see more examples of exhausted tropes being brought into the narrative, each attempting to stand up against Momose's giggle inducing spotlight. A lot less of Riri being miserable to Anzu goes a long way, although the icky mind control aspect with Junta still feels like a bridge too far for me. Anzu leaves to use the bathroom and multiple women immediately begin eyeing Tsukasa; he can hear some debating approaching him, and their unwanted attention almost giving him a panic attack.Anzu continues her journey of avoiding love and romance in this volume, however- Imp doesn't seem to give up. And shout out to page 40 because "We're a guy and a girl but that doesn't mean romance is the only emotion we're allowed to feel for each other. I feel like this series is trying to get the One Punch vibe by making fun of Shojo tropes in manga, but personally, I feel like it does not always quite hit the mark. The volume seemed to focus more on building up the character list than the relationships between these characters, which I was not a fan of. Romantic Killer ( Japanese: ロマンティック・キラー, Hepburn: Romantikku Kirā) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Wataru Momose.
