I feel I would have been more invested if there were more excerpts about her life than dream visions.

A simple, pure, emotional, genuine, honest, realistic and objective approach to this kind of sensitive issues are always more preferable for me. She grew up in the London Borough of Hackney and Taunton, and has an older sister and a younger brother. This book definitely hit me harder than I thought it would, I didn't think that this book would make me tear up, but it did. I was in no way expecting to like this story as much as i did, and i can honestly say this is one of the best novels i've read in a long time. This novel tells a story of girls who have been tortured through a campaign of bullying, harassment and shaming, (with a small surprise of fantasy element too). The project has expanded into 20 countries worldwide and become internationally renowned, featuring in media from the New York Times to the Times of India. Questi argomenti, ammetto, potevano essere trattati meglio e con maggiore approfondimento da parte dell’autrice, che ha dedicato poco tempo ad alcuni aspetti fondamentali della vicenda. Overall, this is book is well worth your time, especially if you're a fan of The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis. She is also contributor at Women Under Siege, a New-York based organisation working to combat the use of sexual violence as a tool of war in conflict zones worldwide.

The Burning by Laura Bates review – a tale of two witch-hunts

Being a Scot myself, the area of Fife in which this book takes place is one that I am really familiar with and it’s an area of Scotland I haven’t seen represented in fiction before which pleased me immensely. I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time. It's one of those books that makes you see red because what the main character, Anna, is facing makes you so angry especially because you know something just like that happens on a regular basis around the world. The plot was easy to follow and it went by especially fast, it was never slow or difficult to follow other than some conversations as mentioned earlier. The Burning deals with the fact that not enough is being done to stop cyberbullying, and that many girls could end up like Anna.At her new school, Anna tries to keep a low profile, until someone starts asking questions about her past - and then the rumours begin. The Burning is filled with a sense of girls’ age-old shame and suffering, their suppressed, self-devouring anguish and their rage. When she unwittingly alienates school kingpin Simon Stewart, however, his malign attention jeopardises her anonymity. Ne consiglio la lettura anche se il messaggio che potrebbe lanciare agli adolescenti che si approcciano a questo romanzo potrebbe essere fuorviante.

It was shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Book of the Year award and Political Book Awards Polemic of the Year, and named one of the Bookseller’s Top 10 Non Fiction Books of the Year. Her most recent book, Fix the System, Not the Women , was published in May 2022 and named one of Waterstones’ Best Books of 2022.

Imagining that happening to real girls and young women, today, in schools across the country, is really difficult to swallow.
