c) Batsman are to retire and may not return when they have reached the run limit applicable to relevant age group. If the last scoring stroke takes a batsman past any stated retirement mark the extra runs are to be credited.

The Junior League will have two Performance League Champions at each age group, East and West. If a Performance League is tied there shall be a play-off, but where a play-off cannot be arranged/agreed then the team with more wins in the Performance League will be named champions, if still level the better head to head record in the full season will be the winners, if still tied then the title will be shared. iii) The winner for the East and for the West, after combining the Geographical and Performance leagues, (anyone winning an overall winner award will not be eligible to win an award in the same discipline at the same age group) as follows: Batting – the best average, from the top 10 run scorers in the age group. Anyone without an average due to not being out, will be considered to have been out once; Games will normally be played on Monday evening, with a prompt 6 pm start with 4 (or 6) teams assembling and playing a round robin format with two (or three) pitches cut on the outfield to play two (or three) matches at the same time. Each team plays 2 matches per match day. Its effectively a mini stand-alone Tournament and most host teams put complimentary food on post-match. Away sides can offer to host a Junior Cup fixture if the home side cannot find a suitable date due to pitch availability.

ii) For a game to Constitute a “match” the team batting 2nd must receive at least 50% of the first innings overs and if this is not the case the game is abandoned (a tie). The winning total in a rain (or light) affected 2nd innings will be calculated by 1st innings runs divided by overs faced giving a run rate. The run rate will be calculated including all overs and not if a team is bowled out before allocation. For example: From the under 11 age group upwards scorers shall use the cricHQ system for all matches and this shall be done with the scoring app(wherever possible scorers are encouraged to “live” score) , and scores uploaded no later than 24 hours from the end of the match. It shall be the home team’s responsibility to ensure that results are uploaded, where necessary following up with the opposition scorer. In the event of any player failing to comply with the instruction of an umpire, criticising his decision by word or action, showing dissent or generally behaving in a manner which might bring the game into disrepute, the umpire concerned shall in the first instance report the matter to the other umpire and to the player’s team manager, requesting the latter to take action. Batting – the best average, from the top 10 run scorers in that section. Anyone without an average will be considered to have been out once.

Players and team officials shall not use crude/ and or abusive language (known as sledging) nor make offensive gestures or hand signals nor deliberately distract an opponent. Duration of 16 overs, pairs change after over 4, 8 and 12 overs. Maximum 8 ball overs, and each player must bowl a minimum of 2 overs with maximum of 3 overs. Clubs fulfilling rounds of LCB or ECB competitions may re-arrange affected fixtures, with their opponents selecting the alternative date and venue. The age group secretaries/administrators need to be informed once these have been fixed.Clubs must take adequate steps to ensure the good behaviour of their members and supporters towards players and umpires. In the event of any team being unable to field 8 players whether at the commencement of the game or due to injury during the game there will be no forfeiture, but the opposition will have the option to choose the player(s) who make up the final pair and bowl any outstanding overs. We recommend ‘lending’ fielders to make up the fielding side. Junior matches affected by over runs or reserve days of Senior GMCL cup competitions may re-arrange affected fixtures, always within the required play-by dates.
