Description

As the third trimester progresses it is very common to become more uncomfortable. As your baby grows and crowds the abdominal cavity, you may have a hard time taking deep breaths or getting comfortable at night for sleep. Making sure you can rest where possible is key in the third trimester. Warning: Not suitable for children uder 18 years. Do not exceed the stated dose. Cotains iron. Do not use if foil is broken. Vitamin B12: If you eat a solely plant-based diet, you will need to get vitamin B12 from fortified foods or a supplement because this nutrient isn't available from plants. Vitamin D: The NHS recommends taking a daily vitamin D supplement during pregnancy. You’ll need 10 micrograms of vitamin D each day. Week 28 until the birth of your baby is known as the third trimester. The third trimester marks the home stretch, as the body prepares for the birth of your baby, the end of your pregnancy is in sight. You’re almost there! The foetus continues to grow in weight and size, and the body systems finish maturing.

You'll need to take a supplement even if you eat foods containing the natural form of folic acid (folate), such as spinach, broccoli, granary bread, beans and pulses. Vitamin C contributes to normal physiological function which helps in producing good quality cells. The British Nutrition Foundation says you should also avoid foods that have vitamin A added to them - they may say 'fortified with vitamin A' on the label. However, you can eat fruit and vegetables that are high in carotenoids such as beta carotene from foods like carrots, pumpkin and mango. Minerals: Minerals are another important ingredient to look for in prenatal vitamins. Some of these include magnesium, calcium, zinc and iodine. Your doctor may also recommend that you take iron, although these needs vary from person to person, so only take iron after consulting with your doctor. The NHS also recommends that anyone pregnant, or trying to be, should take a folic acid supplement. It is advised that you take folic acid daily throughout pregnancy. This is very important as it can help prevent major birth defects in a foetus’s brain (anencephaly) and spine (spina bifida). During the third trimester, the baby continues to develop. The lungs and kidneys continue to mature. By the 36th week, your baby’s head may "engage" (drop into the pelvic area). This is a process called "lightening." The bones of the skull stay soft to make it easier to pass through the birth canal. This is a comprehensive, active blend of 29 key vitamins, minerals and amino acids scientifically formulated to this trimester. B vitamins: Most prenatal supplements include some or all the eight different B vitamins needed during pregnancy. The most important when it comes to supporting a healthy pregnancy are B12, B9 (folate) and B6. Folate in particular helps the body form healthy red blood cells and reduces the chance of birth defects. DHA and EPA: These are fatty acids which are important for your baby’s brain development. Some women opt for a DHA and EPA supplement in the form of a fish oil or algal oil supplement.

Although multivitamins may contain key ingredients that pregnant women need - namely, folic acid and vitamin D - they might also contain ingredients that are aren't safe during pregnancy. Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Oxide, Ascorbic Acid, L-Choline bitartrate, DL Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, Ferrous (Iron ll ) Fumarate, Beta Carotene, Nicotinamide, Cholecalciferol, ZincOxide, Calcium Pantothenate, Coenzyme Q10, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine HCI, Riboflavin, Maganese Sulphate, Copper Sulphate, Methylcobalamin, L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate, Choromium Chloride, Sodium Selenite, Phylloquinone, Potassium Iodide, D-Biotin This is a comprehensive, active blend of 28 vitamins, minerals and amino acids scientifically formulated for the third trimester.Magnesium contributes to the psychological function and also has a role in the process of cell division Prenatal vitamins are each specially formulated for the different stages of pregnancy. Some work best for before pregnancy while trying to conceive, while others are designed to support pregnant women during those all-important first 12 weeks. For anyone still trying to conceive, it is recommended to start taking prenatal vitamins three months before you hope to get pregnant.

For example, Boots A-Z tablets contain 23 essential vitamins and minerals but they also contain vitamin A. A cheaper supplement that contains these alone is sufficient (unless you're advised otherwise by your doctor) and more cost-effective. Making sure you get enough sleep, eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise in addition to taking a good quality multivitamin with sufficient minerals to help restore levels of key nutrients are all important. These factors will help to support the resumption of your cycle.

It’s worth noting that a well-rounded prenatal vitamin should include all the necessary ingredients required to support a healthy pregnancy, which we’ve explained in more depth below. What types of nutrients should I look for in prenatal vitamins? The main reason this supplement is great for that first trimester is that the formula focuses on supporting hormone balance, cell division (the period of rapid growth) and energy (the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are notoriously exhausting). The vitamin B1, iron, magnesium and vitamin B2 included are all key players for reducing tiredness and fatigue and boosting those energy levels.

A sac filled with amniotic fluid, called the amniotic sac, surrounds the foetus throughout the pregnancy. The amniotic fluid is liquid made by the foetus and protects the foetus. It also helps to regulate the temperature of the foetus. Nutrients play an important role in the development of the egg, womb preparation, hormone regulation and more. Each month, the reproductive and hormonal cycle develop an egg cell, prepare the womb and a range of other processes have to be performed to create the right fertile balance. Proceive ® Women delivers high levels of carefully selected, key ingredients including;Folic acid is needed to help prevent birth defects called 'neural tube defects', including spina bifida. Official guidance is that you should take 400 micrograms (mcg) every day from the moment you start trying for a baby until the end of your first trimester (12 weeks).
