Note: it comes in a cardboard gatefold sleeve rather than a jewel case - not my favourite format to be honest, but it's nice and compact for the shelf! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I really like this album as it manages to incapsulate the very essence of what the Eurovision Song Contest is all about.

Disc 2 opens with a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, and 2022’s UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder. The Olsen Brothers’ winner is included, and the disc finishes with 4 more winning songs from Jamala, Marija Šerifović, Secret Garden, and the first of four 1990’s victors representing Ireland, Eimear Quinn with ‘The Voice’.Sandie Shaw’s ‘Puppet On A String’ is up next before timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with ‘Wonderful Dream’, and Gigliola Cinquetti with ‘Go (Before You Break My Heart)’. Flip the LP over for the final side which is all about celebrating the earlier years of the contest… the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard is leading the track-list. Disc one concludes with KALUSH’s winner from 2022, Barbara Pravi’s ‘Voilà’ from 2021, Netta’s win from 2018, and Salvador Sobral from 2017. A 5-LP box set presented in a rigid slip case, with the 5 individual LP’s, including track by track annotations on the reverse of each cover that include facts about the song, artist, and result at the contest. With so many songs entered since the beginning (some highly cherished and others best left in the vaults) this won’t please everyone, but it’s a great chance to hear many of these songs again, and I hope further volumes are released or a DVD/Blu-ray collection - they should have “tooken one step further”!LP4 starts with ‘What’s Another Year’ – the first of Johnny Logan’s winners, and Nicole’s victor ‘A Little Peace’… as well as winners from Bobbysocks, Riva, Sandra Kim, Carola, and Corinne Hermès. Winners Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Emmelie De Forest are featured along with favourites from the past decade from The Roop and Eleni Foureira. Celebrate the legacy with 36 songs across 2LPs – LP1 pressed on translucent red, and LP2 pressed on translucent blue vinyl. This unique 3 CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contests history – including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners.

Sadly it’s just a cardboard trifold sleeve, no booklet or pictures, the contest has been quite the visual experience over the years, just to see the fashion and hairstyles over the years would have been fun! One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads Disc 3, which also includes ‘What’s Another Year’ and ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, plus Nicole’s well-loved ‘A Little Peace’. This unique 3 CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contests history – including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners. Established acts that represented the UK in the ’70s include Olivia Newton-John, The Shadows and The New Seekers – all featured. This compilation brings all of the popular (not necessarily my favourite Eurovision songs) together in one collection.

Flip the album over for a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Eleni Foureira. Over on side 2, ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita opens, followed by Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ and favourites from Verka Serduchka, and Netta.

It has most of the hits that you would expect but there are a few that I suspect the record company couldn’t include like Cliff Richard’s Congratulations etc most probably due to licensing or copyright issues. The earlier years of the contest are celebrated on LP5 – with the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard leading the track list.
