Much like the Bosch, this DeWalt cordless jigsaw does not come with any batteries or charger. One major difference is the fan cooled motor has replaceable brushes if by chance they did happen to burn out. This is highly unlikely as the intelligent XR lithium system carefully controls the torque and speed depending upon the load. Under full load, you will be able to cut at up to 3000 strokes per minute but also have full control of the speed with the intelligent variable speed trigger. The 4350CT has three orbital settings plus straight cutting, powered by a Makita-built 6.3 AMP motor. The electronic variable speed control (800 - 2,800 SPM) is engineered to maintain consistent speed throughout the cut for superior results. The motor is dynamically balanced for 40% less tool vibration and lower noise than competitive models. The 4350CT has a 26mm length of stroke, with a wood cutting capacity of 135mm at 90° and a steel cutting capacity of 10mm at 90°. A clear acrylic dust cover shields the blade drive allowing the operator a clear view of the cut line If you are only doing occasional cuts on a workbench at home then a corded jigsaw might be best for you. Secondly, there is a price difference between both as cordless kits sometimes do not come with batteries and need to be bought separately. This begs into the question of brand loyalty as most new lithium ions are going to be universal amongst their brand. This allows you the freedom of buying one or two batteries that will last years and is interchangeable Variable speed control dial (800-2,800 SPM) enables user to match the speed to the application for superior results

The highest quality cordless jigsaw that hits all the right notes and balances a convenient price tag would have to go to the DeWalt 18V XR. Its power just kept the motor going no matter what you throw at it. I would have chosen the Bosch cordless jigsaw if they would have included a battery in their selling price, these two are, by far, the best cordless jigsaws that money can buy. As a 240V saw the variable speed 700-watt motor will go up to 3100 strokes per minute in even the most demanding situations. The dust blower beyond cleared the working area and you can also direct it through the included dust extraction adapter. The Jigsaw blades were a breeze to change just like on the other DeWalt Jigsaws. Finally, for ultimate customization of cuts, the 3-position orbital will change the aggressiveness or smoothness of cuts. The JV100DZ 10.8V Jigsaw features a variable speed control trigger, and offers up to a 45 degree bevel in aluminium. Running on 10.8v power, you will be able to complete any project you are working on. The no load speed of up to 2,400 SPM will allow your bayonet shanks to cut into any surface. This jigsaw features a stroke length of 18 mm, while having a maximum cutting capacity in wood of 65mm and a maximum for mild steel at 2 mm. I've had/owned/used and killed cheaper power tools and I've come to the conclusion over the years that cheap tools, specially those that require power of some sort are cheap for a reason. They don't last or the product is updated in such a way that you cannot get parts for which means you have to throw it away and buy another cheap power tool. Almost all the Jigsaws below have this slide in blade mechanism but older units were notoriously a pain to replace the blades as they were often screwed in. Due to the fact that the blade is rather thin and long with no bottom support, one has to be careful in what applications they use it for. It is sometimes tough to manoeuvre so there is a slight learning curve to turning cuts as rather than forcing the blade one must let it be steered by the reciprocating motion.I love the Makita brand but I'm also warming to the Dewalt brand as well as I have some of there gear too. Originally it was called the Lesto jigsaw until Scintilla was bought out by Bosch in 1964 when they aptly replaced Lesto with the Bosch name. Bosch further went onto improving the design by adding both a pendulum action to the blade movement as well as a tool-less blade replacement function making it even easier to replace the blades. I was so impressed with the old Makita drill/driver that I decided at that point to invest into future Makita gear for whatever job I required it to do. The Jigsaw was initially created by an engineer by the name of Albert Kaufman in Switzerland in 1946. He observed the bobbing motion of his wife’s sewing machine and was curious if he attached a saw to the same mechanism if it would be useful for cutting. During its initial production, it was manufactured by the Scintilla AG Company of Solothurn, Switzerland. The highest quality Jigsaw hands down goes to the DeWalt DW331 Jigsaw. As mentioned, for those who need simply the most power that will keep on going even through the toughest jobs, need this saw.

Blade change is simple with a single hex screw fastening with the hex wrench stored in the machine handle The Makita 4329 Jigsaw is ideally suited for light duty activities and will appeal to both the professional and the serious DIY enthusiasts. Incorporating a counterweight balancing system, which reduces vibration, the 4329 can be used for long periods without operator fatigue occurring. A sliding dust cover improves dust collection and prevents the scattering of chips. Fitted with a smooth rigid aluminium base which is rustproof and glides over the workpiece. Bevel cutting up to 45 degrees left or right is also possible with the tiltable base.I suppose the two biggest factors to take into account when deciding between corded or cordless jigsaws is application and budget. Both corded and cordless will handle similarly power wise but if you finding yourself moving around between cuts often, cordless is the way to go. At the end of the day it's just a jigsaw and maybe to some people an over inflated priced jigsaw but to me it's a nicely priced jigsaw that if it breaks down at all I'm able to get it serviced at a Makita service centre or I've able to get hold of parts on the internet to do it myself.
