i've learned i just hadn't found the right type of hip-hop that spoke to me, having putting it all in one box rather then seeing it for the diverse artform that it is. from just the first track Feather my whole previous perspective on what rap was had been torn down and as the album played out i found myself going from a hater to a fan. He released numerous albums in this style, with 2005's "Modal Soul" being widely accepted as the finest example. I've listened to this album digitally countless times and was still in awe the moment it flowed through the speakers — somehow it created a space that's so tranquil and beautiful that I got lost in it.
