I love Julie Kagawa and her style of writing but it did feel slightly monotonous as there were multiple scenes depicting, “Something dark had descended and turned normally peaceful creatures vengeful.” Then at about 80% of the book, they encounter a mysterious dark and make a decision to investigate it ( I honestly thought that’s what they were doing for the entire book before ????? ) Recommended paints: White Scar , Celestra Grey , Soulblight Grey , Mephiston Red , Wild Rider Red Space Marines: Scions of Macragge Thank you to the publisher, Inkyard Press, for providing me with an ARC of The Iron Sword in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Upon meeting with the other rulers of Faery, giving warning about the new threat, Evenfall and about the danger from the new fey, Evenfey. To learn more about Evenfall, Ash and group travel to the mortal world where they believe the source of the Evenfey are coming from, a social media company called Insight. There they discover a horrifying truth known as the Nightmare King, the truth about Evenfall and where they face their deepest fears. Despite their best effort, the path of Evenfall and rise of the Nightmare King looms over them as he threatens to destroy the Nevernever for good. Ich hoffe das der letzte Teil aus Megan POV geschrieben ist. Würde den Wechsel zu Ashs POV im zweiten Teil jedenfalls erklären.

STENCIL SPRAYED EDGES: Each in a different colour and design to match the cover, with a stencil edge design on the side and solid sprayed edges on the top and bottom. What they neglect to mention is that the love potion you bought will make your target psychotically obsessed with you, and the genie will grant your wish in the most twisted and sadistic way possible, because that’s just what they do. And this is after you’ve bargained away your soul or your voice or your best friend. The prices at the goblin market are high—mostly too high—for anyone to pay without massive regrets. I loved the world the author created and found myself completely caught up in it. I couldn’t get enough of it.End of the last book Touchstone had disappeared, taking Kierran with it, so Ash and Meghan set out to find their son. The Iron Ravens is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines, created from the lineage of the Raven Guard and raised during the Ultima Founding of ca. 999.M41. Wait, there’s an Iron faery here? In the market?” I was surprised. Though there was no law that barred the Iron fey from the goblin market, in the early days most of the traditional fey would not have tolerated their presence. Recently, however, it had been officially decreed that the goblin market was open to all fey, including the faeries of the Iron Realm. This was at the Iron Queen’s insistence, because the faeries of Summer and Winter welcomed change as well as an old cat welcomed a new puppy. But this was the first I’d heard of one setting up shop. Now he faces even more incomprehensible odds. Their son, King Keirran of the Forgotten, is missing. Something more ancient than the courts of Faery and more evil than anything Ash has faced in a millennium is rising as Evenfall approaches. And if Ash and his allies cannot stop it, the chaos that has begun to divide the world will shatter it for eternity. Both Characters can make battlefield repairs on the Dreadnoughts, with Feirros restoring 3 wounds every turn, so it’ll take some serious firepower to bring them down. Just add a few Gladiator tanks and you’ll prove that the flesh is weak and the machine is strong.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, the market is super sketchy and dangerous. Make the wrong deal, agree to the wrong bargain, and you’ll find yourself cursed or enslaved for a thousand years. Or under contract to give away your firstborn kid (not that I have any). Or in possession of a thing that wasn’t quite what you were expecting, in that it tries to eat your face off every now and again. I’ve been trying to get a message to Mag Tuiredh,” Keirran replied, all businesslike and serious. “But the normal ways haven’t been working. The gremlin messengers disappear—they never make it to the Iron Realm.” This author is brilliant at world-building. The foes/monsters Ash and company face are wildly creative and dangerous, and I have to wonder if they came from her own nightmares. Battle scenes are skillfully written, easy to picture, and highly perilous – I felt these characters could meet their death at any time. They walk a tightwire throughout most of the story. The big bad was laughable. After all that hype, what defeats the creature is the power of lurve. Okay, maybe not exactly love, but positive thoughts. Just say riddikulus, mate, and save us all some time I wasn’t naive. I knew there were those in the Nevernever that still hated and feared Meghan’s subjects; I just hadn’t expected to run into such blatant hostility here. In the market, you left all grudges, feuds, and personal vendettas behind. It was how a Summer sidhe and a Winter gentry could browse side by side without killing each other. Or why a halfling could walk past a motley of redcaps without fear of having their limbs ripped off. One did not tamper with the sanctity of the market, especially since many of the vendors sold some of the most dangerous, rare, and questionable items in the entire world of Faery. Make trouble here, and the least that could happen was being banned for life. Not even I would risk pissing off the goblin market. While they are still good to me and have that same general feel to them that I remember from the original books, I'm not the same reader I suppose. I think it's such a fine line to walk when trying to recreate nostalgic magic with your original readers and alao stay within the same age group perimeters of the original story, it's now attempting to pander to two very different audiences and it can be really tough to do. I think I came in hoping for Cobra Kai. The Iron Raven is the first installment of a new trilogy set within the world of Julie Kagawa's much loved Iron Fey series. There's a recap of all that's happened in the other two series, so that'll mean spoilers...and I mean, you'd be missing out on meeting the Ash, aka the love of my life. *fangirling*

Each character was dealing with their own personal struggles while trying to fight off the threat to the Fey kingdom. I was given an ARC of this book courtesy of the author via NetGalley. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. ★ Als je de letterlijke wolk van magie tenminste niet kon zien die eromheen kolkte, waaruit rokerige flarden opstegen die de lucht in kronkelden en daar oplosten.” I don’t know.” Keirran’s eyes went unfocused. “It was like a living shadow, almost insubstantial, but the way it moved was just wrong. Maybe it’s a new type of Forgotten, but it was like nothing I’d seen before. And it emanated…pure loathing.” He shuddered, looking grim. “I could feel this thing’s hatred. As if it despised everything and wanted all of us dead. Not just me and the Forgotten—everyone. All living creatures, in the Between, the Nevernever, and the mortal world.”Ash slumped in defeat. "Fine," I heard him say. "As you wish, my queen. But if you pass out or fall asleep during the fight with the big monster, I get to be 'unbearably overprotective' for the next month." Thank you so much to the publisher, Inkyard Press, for providing me with a copy to read and and review.
