We believe that technology can play a key role in creating a comfortable and enjoyable living environment, no matter your budget or style of home. Only when this was switched for a Netgear Nighthawk VDSL/ADSL router and the first base unit was replaced with a new model were we able to sync up both cameras successfully. Netgear confirmed that there have been some isolated issues with certain broadband routers and providers (in particular Talk Talk) but these had all been resolved via Netgear’s support network. Viewing options Battery Life The Arlo Ultra 2 has a battery life of up to 6 months, while the Arlo Pro 5 offers a longer battery life of 8 months. However, set up was much more difficult than we’d hoped largely because of the inclusion of a base station that needs to be connected to your broadband router. Furthermore, it’s not the most intuitive systems around with many of the most useful features difficult to find using either the app or the web interface. We were massively impressed with the quality of the recording and live-streaming of video, and the range of features, including two-way audio and nightvision. The build quality on the cameras is excellent, and the magnetic base is sturdy, while giving you great control over the camera's viewing angle. Other useful features include a Nightvision mode so you can see what’s happening in the dark and a two-way audio option (speaker volume can be adjusted to different levels via the app) so you can have a conversation with people in the house. Built in siren The app is full of great features that allow you to personalize your control of the Arlo Go cameras, including the built-in siren, which makes the product a particularly useful burglar deterrent. Final verdict What to do when Arlo is unable to discover your device during an install or setup directly to a Wi-Fi router

What to do when your Arlo camera will not sync to a Base Station or SmartHub during an install or setup Field of View*: The field of view determines the area that the camera can capture. A wider field of view, such as the 180° offered by the Arlo Ultra 2, allows for broader coverage and reduces blind spots. This is important for monitoring larger areas, ensuring that no critical spots are left unobserved. The base station makes the Arlo Pro 2 both more difficult to set up, and more expensive than other cameras on the market. In terms of setup, we had particular difficulty due to an incompatible router. Note: Make sure the camera is within 3 to 6 feet of your Wi-Fi routerduring the setup process. Avoid placing the camera within close proximity to other Wi-Fi devices to avoid signal interference during the setup process.
