This is a system pretty unlike any we have ever seen before, and we love it. It brings the radiogram bang up to date, which will appeal to those who love the idea of old-school accents in the modern world. Some may say it isn’t technically a hi-fi, but we thought it was well worth including. It is equipped with pretty much everything you need to deliver the music to your ears, whether you’re a CD lover, stream absolutely everything or love tuning into Radio 4 throughout the day. That’s not even mentioning the speakers, which are incredibly high quality. This hi-fi is easy to set up and has good sound quality given its small size and reasonable price. The sound is crisp and clear, and there’s a decent amount of volume thought the speakers don’t go very loud. It looks smart, and is a good size for a kitchen or bedside table. Now we know the benefits, it’s time to go through what you can do to stay safe when purchasing over the internet. Take a good look at the retailer Delivering 60W of power for the perfect sound in a small or medium room, this is a mini hi-fi system which gives the user everything you could possibly want from a speaker.

There’s no bias and our tests cover a wide range of brands and prices, so you can be sure we’ll always recommend the right mini hi-fi for you.

There is a DAB+ and FM radio for easy weekend listening, or if you like to catch up on the news before you head out to work while eating breakfast. With 40 pre-set spaces, you won’t have to spend ages scanning in every time you want to want to listen.

A wall-mountable design for anyone who loves to keep their surfaces completely clutter free, this Panasonic is great as both a standalone item and part of a wider sound system.Talking of LDAC, this relatively new technology form doesn’t only help the connection, but also transfers up to three times more data than conventional Bluetooth, so there is every chance your streamed songs will sound perfectly like quality vinyl. A standard remote will allow you to place it anywhere in the room and still control it from the comfort of your bed/sofa. You can wall mount it for a more space-saving look, too. So take your time to really understand the sort of product you’re looking for. Think about the sort of features that you need. Which ones are “nice-to-have” and which ones are absolutely critical. If you’re looking for a cheap option then don’t even consider the products that are all signing all dancing because you’ll be paying for features that you don’t need. Choose your retailer wisely You can also bring out your CD collection too, which you likely spend years and hundreds of pounds on perfecting. It plays CDs and discs encoded with MP3, WAV and other popular files, and the EQ adjustability will let you cater the sounds to what you’re playing.

As with any electrical items, it’s particularly important to study the quality of a product before you buy it. This is especially important for HiFi systems and speakers. But when we’re buying online, what can be done to get an idea of a product’s quality? Brand, as mentioned earlier, is another really important factor to consider for buying HiFi systems and speakers. Next up we thought it would be useful to narrow down our search a bit more and only look at HiFi systems and speakers made by JVC. We managed to find 5 options at Currys. It is solidly built, too. If you’re after something which will last years and be able to handle those everyday marks and scratches which can’t be helped, then you’re in safe hands. We will say the aerial is a little flimsy though, so you may have to position this to get the best signal delicately. Flat Panel – Technically all-in-ones too, but a lot thinner. Perfect for subtly placing on a sideboard or bedroom cabinet without taking up too much space. Most are also wall mountableReputable retailers always offer warranties or guarantees on their goods. These warranties can actually provide you with much more generous coverage than your statutory rights, so it’s important to know when you do or don’t have one. Sometimes you need to register with the retailer to be eligible, so it’s important to read the fine print. There is 250W of sound, which is enough to get the party going without drowning out conversation and making it so powerful that it becomes uncomfortable. Bluetooth lets you make your playlist on Spotify or Apple Music, and play it through the speakers. This way, you can keep the phone in your possession, but there are wired inputs available too if you don’t want to risk a connection getting lost if you nip out to the garden. You can turn the bass up if you move onto the heavier tunes, and five pre-set equalisers will let you hear every song just how it was meant to be. Don’t worry if you’d rather let professional DJs do the work though – FM radio tuning is available so that you can catch up with your favourite Friday night shows. It’s also important to have a good idea of your expectations in terms of quality too. You may not actually be looking for the best quality product if your main goal is to get cheap HiFi systems and speakers. So spend some time considering what’s important to you and think about the areas that you’d be happy to compromise or not.

Every mini hi-fi is given a Which? test score out of 100, so you can immediately see at a glance which are the best and worst. Basically put, High-Fidelity sound. It refers to the high-quality reproduction of sound, as opposed to poorer quality sound produced by inexpensive audio equipment. We like the design. It is modern, yet oddly dated which makes for a fab combination. When there is a CD playing, this is illuminated. The control buttons on the top of the machine are smooth and integrated into the body, so there is no unsightly raised dials, and the little screen on the front displays a good amount of information at any one time. You can stream straight from your compatible devices through Bluetooth and NFC, and there is the usual CD player and FM radio. But there is also the DAB option which some other hi-fis really do miss in this day and age, and you can preset up to 40 channels. Then there is Space Tune optimisation, which caters your music to wherever it has been placed. Say it is up against a wall, or slap bang in the centre of the room on your side table. The sound will still be quality, with no interference.Another important factor to consider is longevity. When you buy a high-quality JVC RD-D80 Bluetooth All-in-One Hi-Fi System, you’re making an investment that is likely to last longer. Cheaper products may seem like a good deal at the time, but they are often made with lower-quality materials and are not designed to last as long. This means that you may end up having to replace your device sooner, which can end up costing you more in the long run. We noted that it was a little temperamental when connecting the Bluetooth device, and it doesn’t seem to be able to comfortably hold two connections at the same time. Thank you for taking the time to read our JVC RD-D90 Wireless Hi-Fi System review from the Amplifiers & Receivers category. If there’s any products that we have not yet reviewed please leave us a comment and we will do our best to get a review added. About Currys A well-priced, good to control hi-fi which gives you enough control to make for a pleasant experience.
