Description

In 1524, Jörg Schnaitter, a pierprew ( beer brewer), is mentioned in connection with the property at the address 17 Löwengrube. The distinctive golden lion against a blue background is a hallmark of one of the world’s oldest breweries with a history traced.

A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Any instances of goods being delivered below expectations, such as broken bottles, should be reported immediately on arrival but within 7 days, upon which we will issue a refund for the damaged bottles. In the unlikely event of any broken glass we would recommend to leave the broken glass in the box and only extract those bottles that are undamaged. They use the same brewing techniques passed down from generation to generation and continue to use the traditional brewing method to ensure that each bottle of Lowenbrau beer is just as delicious as it was when it was first brewed.

As brewer and owner, Ludwig Brey acquired the neighboring properties of Nikolaus Nassl, a Bierwirt (seller of beer). Labatt's production of Löwenbräu ended in 2002 and exports of Munich Löwenbräu to North America resumed, although on a much smaller scale than had been the case before the Miller deal.No regulatory action was taken, but sales of Löwenbräu dropped to the point where it was clear the brand would not seriously compete with Michelob for the premium-beer segment.

A classic German bier that takes me back to the first Lowenbrau Munchener pub that I visited in Herford in the late 70s. Pours brilliantly clear gold with a beautiful sustaining white head; great initial lacing which slowly gets weaker but a thick film of white persists. In 1999, the North American rights to Löwenbräu passed to the Labatt Brewing Company, which began to brew Löwenbräu in Canada for both the Canadian and US markets with the same recipe used in Germany. Are there better beers – yes, have I tasted better – yes, but this has always been my go to German lager.

After the war, an agreement was reached with the Schülein heirs, who had fled to the United States, to ensure the survival of the brewery.
