Apart from a very very small scuff on one corner of the cover, this album looked and played as if it was brand new,it was in mint condition. Buckingham came into the studio with " Can't Go Back and "Eyes of the World", while his other three songs on the album were written shortly after his arrival in France. Like Rumours and Tusk before it, this box set version of Mirage includes a vinyl copy of the album, which is disc five.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. By this time Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham had each started solo careers, Nicks to multi-platinum, number-one success with 1981's Bella Donna.Mirage nixed any suggestion that drama and vicious recriminations were the band’s sole animating force, and flourished in the emotional void they occupied: heartbroken, strung out, and alone at the top. Fleetwood Mac’s internecine relationships and betrayals outdid any soap opera, though by 1982, they had plotted almost every conceivable love triangle and finally found partners outside the group. McVie had recently ended her relationship with Wilson, a member of the Beach Boys, who would die by drowning the following year.

This expanded reissue features a remaster of the original album, 13 live tracks, B-sides, outtakes, plus other songs that did not make the final cut. After two records about cheating on each other, it was inevitable that Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine and John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood would begin to cheat on Fleetwood Mac.Three of these tracks, "Second Hand News," "Brown Eyes," and "Hold Me" would later be officially released on the expanded 1980 Fleetwood Mac Live album in 2021. Unsurprisingly, given the perfunctory nature of the sessions, there are few whole songs from the cutting room floor on this reissue: Nicks’ “If You Were My Love” is solid, and a more aggressive version of “Empire State” shows what might have transpired had Buckingham been allowed to make Tusk II.

Nicks agreed with Buckingham, stating that "It's kind of a bitter song and that's really not where any of us are at right now, even thought it's a wonderful song. noted the absence of a re-release of the "Mirage Live" 1982 concert video release, which to date has not been released on DVD in the United States and United Kingdom. In a 1981 interview with BAM magazine, Nicks reported that her original three submissions for Mirage were "That's Alright" (with the working title "It's Alright"), "If You Were My Love", and "Smile at You", although she said that Buckingham had encouraged her to replace the latter song with a different composition. The edited version of "Gypsy" that appears on the album and single releases runs for only 4:24, but a 5½-minute version had been originally recorded.and "If You Were My Love" later released on Stevie Nicks' solo album 24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault. com and send your item to: Last Night From Glasgow Limited , Glasgow Street, 23, Glasgow, G128JW, United Kingdom. So far all the reissued/remastered Fleetwood Mac albums I have heard are on point, this one follows the same trend.
