Hilarious scenes also in the safari park with Blakey and Stan and overall I would say this is the best film of the three cinematic outings. Hill, Rose (18 March 2022). "Casts of EastEnders, Corrie and 'Allo 'Allo! attend funeral of TV legend Anna Karen". The Daily Mirror. Weekend Broadcasting". The Times. 16 May 1964. p.12. ISSN 0140-0460. Gale CS202729136. Archived from the original on 26 May 2021 . Retrieved 4 June 2021. Advised to leave South Africa, Karen moved to London at the age of 17. [5] She shared a room with two other girls in a girls' hostel in Paddington and enrolled at the London School of Dramatic Art. [6] [7] She began working as a kitchen porter, washing up at a local restaurant in the evenings to help pay for her rent and drama school fees, however she learnt that she could earn twice as much money if she worked as a striptease dancer at London's Panama Club, which she did. [8] Career [ edit ] Shortly after 22:30 GMT on 22 February 2022, the London Fire Brigade were called to a fire at Karen's Ilford home, where she was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 85. [36] [5] [37] Metropolitan Police said her death was not suspicious and later concluded that the fire started after she fell asleep with a lit cigarette. [29]

Characters from On The Buses appeared in two other series. A spin-off, Don't Drink the Water (1974–75), ran for thirteen episodes, featuring Blake retiring to Spain with his sister Dorothy (Pat Coombs - who also played one of the female bus drivers in the first On The Buses film). Anna Karen reprised her role as Olive in LWT's revival of The Rag Trade, which ran for two series in 1977–78. From 1977 to 1978, Karen reprised the role of Olive in the LWT revival of the sitcom The Rag Trade created by the same writers as On the Buses. The series depicted a group of female workers in a clothes factory; Karen appeared in all twenty two episodes. [19] She also made a cameo appearance in the sex-comedy film What's Up Nurse! (1977). [20] Much of Karen's work in the 1980s and 1990s consisted of roles in the theatre. In 1981, Karen had a main role in the sci-fi children's film Stainless Steel and the Star Spies about a group of robots intending to invade Earth to claim a crystal ball with extraterrestrial qualities. [21] From 1985 to 1986, Karen had a main role in the sitcom Troubles and Strife alongside Annette Badland, however the series was not a success. She also appeared in several children's television series towards the late 1980s, including Roland Rat and The Sooty Show. Grant, Bob (1960). The Criminal ( Motion picture trailer). StudioCanal Ltd. Here We Go Again!: After Susy leaves him, Stan falls in love with Gloria and proposes to her, starting up the trouble of having to save up for a flat all over again. The climactic pay-off is a shameless plug for Windsor Safari Park, with a lion and monkeys on the bus. However, this desperate pile of contrived cheese is again salvaged by the wonderful Stephen Lewis. Some of the situations are just gross - a baby defecates in a potty while Stan's at the dinnertable. Rather predictably, he later excretes in Arthur's cap. The baby, that is. Not Stan, though that would have probably been funnier. Billany, Fred (22 November 1968). "Why Mrs W's Diary was scrapped". Newcastle Journal. p.1. ISSN 0307-3645 . Retrieved 5 April 2021– via British Newspaper Archive. When it hit its stride, it was comedy gold, brilliant and very, very funny, the highlight I thought was the outstanding Foggy night, such an original episode, it's brilliant, up there with the best.
