Description

Their expertise is very apparent in their present range of lawn mowers and garden tools as it includes products, which no other garden machinery manufacturer produces. The Rotak electric and cordless lawn mowers demonstrate the company's willingness to innovate with features like grass combs that enable you to mow right up to the lawn's edge and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that have virtually no weakened performance after extended use. Our online support can handle all your after sales needs including consumables, spare parts, servicing, and more. Visit Support.

All of the other mowers from Bosch operate on a higher 32 voltage; the CityMower 18 is the only one that works with an 18v battery. However, the advantage of this is that it can power share with plenty of other 18v tools from the brand. This includes power tools like drills as well as other garden tools like hedge trimmers. Being battery operated means that as well as enabling you to work wherever you need to, without the worry of electric cables you won’t have the hassle of messy fuel refills to spoil your day. This smooth, cordless Bosch CityMower 18V-32-300 makes mowing the lawn effortless and of course it’s quieter than its petrol counterpart, lower on vibrations and noise and is 100% fume free, allowing you to appreciate the aroma of cut grass, as nature intended. As a no frills mower, you wouldn’t expect the CityMower 18 to be overly exciting when it comes to cutting heights, but the fact that it only has a choice of three did leave me feeling a little deflated. That said, if you are looking for a lawn mower to tend to an already well-maintained garden then this will suit you down to the ground. Bosch say this new mower is ideal for maintaining smaller gardens, and as a rough guideline the user manual advises that under ideal mowing conditions (cutting thin, dry grass) a 3.0ah battery should be enough for up to 100 square metres of lawn, 4.0ah 150 square metres, 5.0ah 185 square metres, and a 6.0ah battery should provide enough runtime to do up to 220 square metres. It’s worth bearing in mind that there are a lot of variables involved here and it is hard to measure these kinds of things precisely, but even if you have trouble getting all your grass cut before the battery runs out, you can always invest in an additional battery if you’d rather power through and get the job done in one go. The EASYMOWER 18V-32-200 will make an ideal cordless lawnmower for maintaining smaller gardensAt the time of writing, the EASYMOWER 18V-32-200 is the most affordable cordless lawnmower that Bosch offer, being substantially cheaper than the CITYMOWER 18-32 which preceded it, and with which it shares many similarities- both being PowerForAll 18v rotary mowers with a 320mm rotary blade, grass combs and an all-plastic grass collector. Bosch was created in 1886 in Stuttgart, Germany by Robert Bosch who formed the business to specialise in the manufacture of electronic components. The 'Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering' as he originally called it, has since become one of the biggest and best-known manufacturers of both domestic and industrial products in the world. Bosch have always had a willingness to improve on their already established designs, right from day one. It's this ethos, which has allowed Robert Bosch GmbH and Bosch Garden Tools to maintain the enviable place in the market they hold today. Its weakness is its battery life. You’re looking at around 20 minutes from a charge, then a wait of around two hours while the charger does its stuff. However, it’s compatible with other batteries from the Worx Powershare range, so you might be able to share spare batteries across a range of home and garden tools. The Bosch CityMower 18 has a slight edge in ease-of-use and cutting performance, but it’s also quite a bit more expensive. If you have a small garden and you’re on a budget, this little wonder’s hard to beat.

Bosch also make several cordless rotary mowers which run on their larger 36v batteries, which may be ideal if you need something with a bit more power behind it – however, one of the biggest advantages of the EASYMOWER is that as part of the PowerForAll 18v Alliance, it shares battery compatibility with a much wider variety of tools. If you already own cordless tools which are part of the PowerForAll 18v Alliance, or you’re thinking you might do at some stage, then the EASYMOWER 18V-32-200 is definitely worth a look. However, although it doesn’t look man enough for the job, the CityMower 18 gamely conquered our seriously wild, overgrown winter lawn with the ability of a model with twice the power. Once the first cut was complete, subsequent cuts were a breeze.

Why buy from us?

What’s more, while there isn’t a great choice when it comes to cutting height, changing them is a breeze thanks to the single lever adjustment. This is a major plus for people who are in a hurry to get the garden looking good. Grass Collection Box If you want a lawn mower that has all the mod cons then this won’t be the machine for you. You might be better suited to the AdvancedRotak which has some impressive features and gives you everything you would expect from a mower. This Bosch CityMower 18 is NOT supplied with a rear roller. Its bigger brother, the Bosch EasyRotak 36-550, does have arear roller. To lean more about the features included with each of the Bosch mowers, please see the comparison table later in this review.
