The distillery opened in September 2018 and now produces three craft gins - a London Dry Gin, Pink Gin, and a Black Edition. Bottled by the Frankfort Distillery Company, one of only six companies to be granted a licence to bottle medicinal whisky and spirits during prohibition. As a result, packaging is now often at the forefront of product launches and we’ve seen incredible concepts in recent years. The custom-designed bottles pay homage to both these arts, with the top half frosted and shaped like a wine bottle, while the bottom mirrors a cut crystal cocktail shaker.

In terms of my current home in Brentingby, it’s the home of some of the best local food, from the Melton Mowbray pork pies to Stilton cheese. The branding also works well across Bathtub Gin’s sister spirits, each with their own unique illustration and copy. That being said, we have received wonderful feedback and have made good progress in the industry, despite being only five months old (at the time of writing). We started the initial concept with the bottle design - Mirroring the 10-plate copper still in the design of the Brentingby flag ship London Dry gin bottle.Made by capturing the ‘angels share’ from their production of Japanese gin, this only yields around 15ml of liquid from each distillation, so to produce a single bottle requires up to fifty distillations. The enigmatic figure is the centrepiece of the design, whose velvet suit depicts the “hedonistic fashion” of Soho, while the fox represents the area’s history as a royal hunting ground. My engineering background helped with designing our bespoke 400L pot still named Ayanda, which I built myself too. While juniper, as is customary with gins, plays a dominant role, the brand goes a step further, incorporating a range of botanicals that lend it its unique profile.

We can offer tours and tastings, though the group size is limited to around 4-6 due to space constraints. They've already joined together to host a Peaky Blinders event at the brewery, and more events are in the pipeline. With Rock Rose, Dunnet Bay Distillers have produced a striking design to really evoke the spirit of its gin. Plus, they're joining forces to help to evolve the culinary experience for future generations in Melton Mowbray - and ensure the town stays firmly on the foodie map. Three small dots surround the contemporary typography of the logo, symbolising three Nordic lighthouses which surround the straight, while the cork stopper has the North Star leading the way.Not only is Brentingby Distillery Melton's first gin distillery, it's also powered entirely by wind. In today's age, where consumers are increasingly eco-conscious, Brentingby Gin rises to the occasion. We are a London Dry gin, so we add all of our botanicals to the still with the spirit, before doing a single shot distillation.

It really set social media talking on its launch in 2019 and it’s easily one of the most Instagramable bottles you’ll see! As its name suggests Brooklyn Gin is distilled in New York, but not in the borough from where it takes its name. This gin from Germany’s Black Forest region is produced from a blend of 47 different botanicals, hence the name. The sea glass design – “a tactile and emotive nod to the Cornish provenance” – really is beautiful and further adds to what is, a truly great gin.We see it time and again; a new gin launches with a stunning bottle and it helps catapult it to the top of our “must-have” list. Only six bottles are created per batch and in this month’s auction we have bottle number 1 of batch 5, which has already surpassed previous results. This rather blingy creation was produced by Leicestershire craft gin producers Brentingby and decorated with 5000 to 6000 Swarovski crystals.

Inspired by perfume bottles from the time of the Ming dynasty, this incredible bottle was designed by artist, Lala Curio, in partnership with Hong Kong ceramic brand Loveramics.Teaming up with Seymourpowell branding agency, they created a beautiful design, built around their brand and the SIlent Pool. In Brentingby Gin, one doesn't just find a beverage but an experience, a journey through the lanes of tradition, craft, and innovation. And with it’s plastic-free bespoke designed bottle, it goes even further to tie into that theme with its turquoise glass and scale-like exterior. Bruce: As a distillery some things are best-kept secret, I can tell you we will be one of the first distilleries to power our distillation process from wind power we aim to source sustainable energy and we are now hooked up to the wind turbine in Brentingby, we have some interesting things happening in the future and it’s a case of watch this space.
