Stable feet with three angles to choose from let you find the ultimate position to annihilate your opponents. I decided to tone things down for the gaming test for the Pop Keys, so instead of killing zombies, I played a few matches of Halo Infinite, and the board worked as well as any mechanical keyboard equipped with brown switches. That switch combo offers the feel of a mechanical keyboard with its snappy feedback while each keystroke remains accurate and smooth, like your average keyboard.

Lastly, low-profile keycaps are perfect for users who prefer to have their fingers hovering over their keys like they would on a gaming laptop. Due to the simplicity of a membrane keyboard, they usually are more affordable than mechanical keyboards, so they're suitable for users on a budget. So if you don’t mind some clanks and clacks, this board can be a good way to change up your workspace--or even your gaming space. All the while, you don't have to worry about banging this keyboard up on your way to LAN parties and tournaments. The switches were light enough at 45g to swap weapons fast, while providing just a tad of tactility.

It doesn’t miss out of style points either, thanks to per-key RGB lighting that shines through the reliable double-shot PBT keycaps 4. As I mentioned earlier, the switches that the Pop Keys come equipped with are TTC brown switches, which aren’t my thing.Plus, the keys are remappable, so you can make custom bindings and macros, storing up to four profiles on board. I felt the tiny tactile bump that embodied the MX Brown switch, and while this isn’t Logitech’s fault, I am just not a fan of Brown switches. Membrane keyboards employ a rubber or silicon dome at the end of every key press to register a keystroke and provide the user with a small amount of tactile feedback. The Razer Ornata V3 is that thanks to its membrane-mechanical hybrid switches that help keep the costs low while still providing a tactile, pleasant user experience. I will say that these are an appropriate choice for extras, especially the heart emoji, because who doesn’t use that at some point?

There’s a wide variety of mechanical key switches to choose from, so we’ll start by looking at the most common ones available, Cherry MX. For the most part, all of these unique key switches all act like variations of Cherry MX switches usually with shorter debounce rates that make them feel faster. This wired gaming keyboard comes geared up with optical-mechanical switches, ensuring speedier actuation and a longer lifespan than traditional mechanical switches. On the flip side though, the rubber or silicon used as a membrane will inevitably break down faster than a mechanical switch. Looks are a bit deceiving here, because even though the Pop Keys is visually the polar opposite of a gaming keyboard, the performance of it and sound can match the overall gaming experience of any of the cheaper MX Brown gaming keyboards on our best gaming keyboards list.Logitech’s product page for the Pop Keys advertises the sound to be “Old-school and oh-so satisfying.
