Ayla hasn’t had an easy go of things. Getting bounced around in the system from a young age, she’s had to deal with some traumatic issues in her young life, but it isn’t until one fateful night at a club when her life gets changed forever. Her path crosses with Marcus Constantine and their fate was entwined from that night forward. When she is not writing her novels she can be found lounging with her husband and puppy, bingeing Netflix shows and drinking wine. She is also huge on travel and loves to see new things and new places which are usually the inspiration for many of her novels. RH though she's involved with only Marcus here I believe, the connection with the other 2 exists however I skimmed further and Marcus is still alive but I can’t read anymore to find when and how this story ends. Honestly, TikTok made me do it. I am glad it did because this was so good. I finished it in a day. It's everything I ever wanted in a reverse harem, obsession, stalking romance.

There was a level of corniness in this book that I just couldn’t get over. Major eye rolling happened. Ayla isn’t weak per se, and of course it’s important to promote a persons ability to overcome physical limitations, but the level of corniness throughout the dialogue overshadowed the attempt to give her character the strong willed vibe that she needed to have in the world she was dropped into. It felt really forced. At least for me. I will skim the end to just see what happens, but honestly I just don't care about these characters anymore. For having romance in this RH, I felt no romantic connection with Ayla with the other two guys besides Marcus, since she rarely hung out with the other two guys. Growing up, Callie Rose always wanted to become an author and this always makes her grateful that she is living her dream. Writing is something that she always loved to do and when she was in school, she would take any opportunity to take an assignment or project into a story. I also REALLY hated the way she handled meeting a certain character in this book. I can’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, but her level of “stand-offishness” honestly made me angry. I’m not saying she should have blindly trusted this person, because that would have been unrealistic for her character, but some sort of human emotion would have been nice. It was almost like the more she came to terms with this character the more indifferent she acted. She just glazed right over it when I feel like it should have contributed to her life, to the plot, in a larger manner.

This foursome is exciting and sexy. I’m so excited to explore more of their dynamic and how see how their story unfolds! Also, I need to not have to live with that cliffy for too long— ya girl is over here biting her nails in anticipation for answers! The plot parts were much improved. I think the cliffhanger we got at the end of this book wasn't quite as effective as the last book and there were some twists that just didn't quite work for me as well but overall it was much better and I appreciated the action. One thing I didn't mention in my review of the first book is that Ayla had one of her arms amputated 2 and half years before the main plot of the book. I don't know what it's like to lose an arm but there is so little attention paid to it that it seems like a weird inclusion. Many people who have lost limbs live very regular lives but Ayla seems to have zero issues navigating this fairly recent amputation and when she loses her prosthetic, she acts like it doesn't really matter, which is not what I think would actually happen. It just felt a bit off to me and made me feel like that aspect of her character could have been handled better. sweet obsession is the first book on a reverse harem trilogy that talks about a woman, ayla, who is shot trying to save some strange’s life. this strange? marcus, her new stalker.

It seems that the odds are in favor of Marcus (or even Theo or Ryland) winning the ruthless game, but what if...what if they concede to their queen, Ayla? What if they want to follow under her rule?! And there's also Ayla's mysterious origins, too. Call it a hunch, but I won't be surprised if she ends up being Luca D’Addario's daughter or something. I remember Theo saying Luca has no children, but Ayla's age and the time of Luca's wife's death match up! Marcus, Ryland (love his name so much), and Theo are our H’s. Marcus is top dog, a bit obsessive, and has the prettiest eyes ever. Ryland is hard and closed off and Theo is our pretty boy that balances them out. I'm so sad this was only a three-part series but what a glorious and satisfying wrap up. I loved Ayla's character as she was tough, resilient, and didn't have much to be happy about, but wasn't jaded, and full of belligerent anger and attitude. I looovvveeeed how the relationship developed with the guys as well. While she has found new friends, Harlow is stressed out given that her mother is in jail. Because of her stress, she often misses school as she does not have the motivation to do her school work while she is working on trying to get her mother out. I really love reading about female side characters who have some sort of personality other than being a best friend or a jealous ex. This book is good and dark. But I guess it gotta be dark when the three love interests are genuine stalkers.
