Description

Clean, aquatic, fresh, salty, and cooling, this fragrance does a good job of recreating that 'cool sea breeze on the beach' vibe.

On the other side, cedar, patchouli and clary sage provided the optimal amount of huskiness, while subtly sweet amber and moderately dark woodsy notes made the whole thing feel really grounded. I had read so many glowing reviews, people raving about this, so I blind bought it because my previous experience with Bvlgari has been positive.

The perfume bottle is very impressive, with a beautiful aqua blue color, and the sprayer works well. I've experimented with others since I found it but always, always find myself going back to this one. Watery for sure and I suppose kind of refreshing but so weak as if all the force and unique character had been drained.

This fragrance is definitely marine aquatic though - sometimes designers seem to choose flanker names just for marketing purposes, but in this case I really don't think you can get any more accurate than "aqua marine. I was gifted a bottle of this around 2010, at first I thought it was a strange smelling brew but then quickly grew to love it's oddly compelling nature which really made me think of the deep blue sea like no other fragrance. I love this understated complexity and that's why this is my pick of all the marine/aquatic scents I've tried so far. My Perry Ellis 360 red latest batch doesn't smell like acqua di gio instead smell like Bvlgari AQVA Pour Homme.

and Davidoff Coolwater is a more bare bones version of this to me (while I've heard it's one of the original "ocean" scents, it's just too much like bodywash in this era). Longevity of the current batches is not great (5 hours give it or take it), projection is intimate, so overspraying a bit is suggested. The powderiness that I remember from the original remains, again less pronounced, in the current formulation. Il cuore è dominato dalla posidonia, una pianta marina che conferisce un tocco di salinità e di vitalità. An important piece in my collection and I'm delighted to see my bottle comes from March 2005, which is the first year it was released.

It smells exciting and inspiring, there's a luxurious sentiment within the casualness that it projects. The scent itself is very unique to me, though, and you won't catch anyone else wearing it since its such a hidden gem. This is the first time i've smelled this fragrance AFAIK but it invokes a memory of a pretty joyous tie period of my life, and for the life of me I can't help but be constantly reminded of Bois Moracain by Tom Ford for some reason, every time I take a whiff of the base notes. Eau de Parfum contains between seven to fourteen per cent of fragrance oils and perfume elixirs and is the second strongest, and longest lasting means of wearing a fine fragrance.Moving past the mood and story this one tells, I'd say the uniqueness might make it difficult to wear. It's noteworthy in that it's quite prominent, but along with the neroli, citrus, amber and cedar, it works, though I normally associate rosemary with baking. Another Jacques Cavallier signature Calone / Cascalone / Scentenal bomb (with white and violet florals). I was a little sceptical by some of the negative reviews but now having received it I am very pleased with my purchase. It is crisp and clean smelling with the lavender and linen notes from the clary sage, almost like fresh skin, but there is no citrus or spice so it is very subtle.
